Here here! Yes retirement should be a freedom party! You followed the contest rules very well. Awesome Bob and I really like the subject matter. You chose as well as the picture gives me a nice smile. And I appreciate those I see. No issues with esthetics, sentence structure, spelling, or subject matter. Best of luck to you and I hope you have a great night!

Excellent entry for the 5/7/5 fire contest. the presentation is good. Concrete images easy to visualize.
Good syllables count and connection between lines.
Good luck in the contest.

it's always a wonderful day to celebrate...
when you retire...no more having to wake
up before you want to...doing things around the
house you have wanted to do for years...

Thanks, Linda. I got up at 4:00 AM for so many years that I still can't sleep beyond 5:00 AM.

I worked two jobs at one time...
raising two kids...
one was a bouncer at night...
so I was up until 2:00am...or later...
now I have trouble sleeping at night...
but I am also retired...
and your so very welcome...love xxoo

What will be burned here? Or is the bonfire just a celebration? Not sure what is going on, but your post rhymes anyway, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Thanks, Christine. The bonfire was for all my regrets. Now that I'm retired, I'm going to try to not have any.

This is excellent work. I enjoyed reading it. Your presentation is very good, too. You use expressive words and colorful imagery that will draw in a readers. Happy Retirement! I retired from teaching, early, due to disability. So I miss working with kids, teaching. That's why I hope to publish books for children and young adults. What are you able to or planning to do in your retirement? Good luck with whatever that is.
Best wishes,
Alexandra

Thanks, Alexandra. I, also, retired early from teaching after ten years because of sickness in the family. I then worked at another job for over forty years. I now plan to write poetry, cut firewood, and try to keep my body healthy.

Thank you for making me smile! I really enjoyed the image accompanied by your lovely sentiments of ambition following retirement. The monrhyme works well and I'm still smiling. So that's good. Although I would prefer that bon fire be one word:) Good luck! Debbie
