A fine and powerful verse commemorating the start of this dreadful war when Israel was rocked by the Hamas terrorist attack. I particularly like the lines: "Tears are never-ending as are the lies/ these infants spirits were released with fright." This is a very moving verse. Well done, Michelle. Debbie

It seems I didn't save my first reply. I appreciate the stars and your review. This was a release for me to write as I am an American Israeli and have friends who are in danger there. Thanks again.

This is an excellent poem for the challenge. During these scary sad days, I've been stuck to the news. I am constantly praying too. Your presentation is very good. You also use descriptive words and colorful imagery that draw in a reader.
Best wishes for peace.

You have certainly written a poem that is suited to the contest
War rages on, ceaselessly, indiscriminate in its march. The world is a very unbalanced place presently. I fear this may well escalate globally. Thank you for sharing your compassionate thoughts.
