John, you express great faith and a great imagination. You create a believable scene, and yet while reading it I wept. If the Lord touched me with this contribution, how many others will have their faith renewed? I look forward to reading more.

John, this is wonderfully conceived and beautifully written. I think the best thing is the humility that we forget to show in our conception of life after death. Your story puts us back on humble ground and reminds us that salvation is ours because of His sacrifice and nothing else. Thanks for your story and well done again friend.
Peace,
John

A fascinating little tale. Your point is made clearly and you write with an assured skill. I was only a little confused by the choice of Isaac as your protagonist's name. Otherwise, well done.

This is a very interesting write-up. Quite interesting. I mean, how many of us would recognize the Christ if so encountered.

This definitely makes one think. Good luck.

Very interesting. And well written.
You illustrate the point that we, with our preconceived notions, will probably be wrong on every point, just as people were 2000 years ago.
Good luck in the contest.

Hi there,

This tale certainly has an oddity to it. Mind you, Isaac could have done with a little more hubris and perhaps isn't ready for that planned afterlife.

Is the splintered wooden door I stand before; the Golden Gates You promised to welcome me through?- semi-colon serves no purpose here.

"Surely, when I turn; the Golden Gates will be before me!" - same thing here, it can't just be substituted for a comma.

He pulled up a plain wooden chair and sat adjacent. "You appear surprised?"- this struck me as more of a statement than a question.

All the best

Interesting, and very different. It's written with imagination, and the writing itself is excellent. Sending you best wishes for your entry in the contest.

This is very interesting to read. My brother had a new death experience from being hit by a car on his bicycle and he says some of these same things. He sounds just like the speakerThey could be side by side wailing "Why has God put me in such hell I'm in hell" I remind him he is really cared for. He has a loving girlfriend who cares for him, cooks for him andthe keep him active. Now I have to read the rest of this man's complaints. This had a good lesson.

There are a lot of periods in weird places. It almost stopped me from reading it, but I continued and found it very interesting. There were lessons in this story. It seems to me that Isaac was preoccupied with all the pomp and circumstance he thought The Lord would enjoy. Boy, was he surprised. I was a little confused by the ending. Did he give the crucifix back to The Lord? I was taught to be careful how you treat people because
you may be walking among angels, unaware. Or maybe The Lord?
Good work. I enjoyed.

I tend not to put periods in weird places. I'm sure what you're confusing for periods are commas, and that is due to the font I've used. I'm sorry for the confusion! Thanks for the read, Sandollar.
