Sometimes a scene stuns us into silence and there are no words for what we see and there is no discomfort in silence when we are will friends who understand us, a fine post, love Dolly x x x

Wow! this is the second outstanding Tanka I have read this morning.
(I know this one is extended) good/old friends sometimes do not have to speak to communicate, very well written and presented****kahpot

Hi MariVal
This tanka seems to tell of the pain of close friends during a rift. It seems they can align like Venus and Earth to recreate the strong bond of friendship.

this tanka and haiku suite - a "tanku" - tells the simple story of two old friends meeting again...

Another lovely one. Not entirely sure about 'curbs'. You don't mean 'kerbs', do you? The silence that sings between two friends is a superb image. Reminds me of the 'Pulp Fiction' line, 'Comfortable silences'.

I used personification of mounts as a woman's curbs... in America, we use the word 'curbs' for a woman's hour glass shape.

This was like watching old friends. You can see what they were before time hit them. They have history. And sometimes love between old friends is the purest kind. Lovely poem. The suggestion of the colors of the sky was perfect. Gretchen

Hi MariVal,
how courageous... starting off with the alliteration of your long and enticing 'c' words. The thought of the restraint held in this moment is also enticing where the hue illuminates and the silence sings... btw, love the line~~ where silence sings. Masterful!
There is so much in this wonderful union of tanka and haiku that sits so perfectly with each other... it's as though the unsaid between two old friends comes alive within its silence.
How connective, and too me as well... I am an earth sign who is attracted by Venus's luster and allure. So once again, your poetry connects the reader not only with beautiful verse, but familiar tones that sits in one's mind as an old familiar friend.
I especially love the way the tanka sets up the haiku with such finesse in its search for love... yes, very lingering. It makes the intention echo and last longer in one's mind just daydreaming of it.
Stunning!
Stunning presentation, stunning composition!
With our thoughts we create...
A taste of love.
Warmest regards,
James.
The love that withholds touching, afraid of what it would say, and the most painful thing about unexpressed love is, it never fades away.~ Unknown author.

I love your two quotes .... but not as much as your beautiful review. Again, you know me so well. Japanese has taught me to use imagery easy to visualize connect. Haiku and tanka are like that. To me it came natural from the start.... mostly because it's so visual
I'm hapepy you like, James. It means a lot to me.

The author's words are thought provoking, filled with meaning and are
creative. I pondered on the words of this poem especially where the author states "where silence sings". The poem flows and connects well.
The color scheme used is awesome and goes well with these words and
the artwork. Hi Gypsy, hope you are doing well....Maria Great Poem!

I like the "unsaid between two old friends" as it could be Venus and the Earth who are generally silent anyway. But I think good friends are comfortable to be silent together as well as talk.
