Well done poetry. Hope you do well in the contest. Writing about emotions is tough work. Not everyone has the guts to go there and poke around. I, myself did not do one. I can joke about almost anything, but to tell people how I really feel takes more courage than I have at the moment. Good work.

A verse here in sonnet form but without the required meter or rhyme. This verse uses the road and travelling as a metaphor for finding God. The journey can be littered with hardships and tears but the end result is worth all the turmoil and striving. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest! Debbie

I wish I had a six, your poem is the best for the contest. I like the calmness and hope that this stanza brings:"The roadmap is marked with tears and laughter.
But the destination is worth the ride.
We seek and we ask; we suffer and pray.
But within the stillness of the center
We find the One who is love eternal.
He heals bruises left by a mortal's love."
