This is a really great chapter you have penned. It makes me happy to see how much he cares about Jameson and his son. You used great descriptive words and very good imagery with your words. Thanks for sharing! love and blessings, Teri

Dammit! I hate that I am out of sixes YET AGAIN!! When will I learn?! Anyway, I am sitting here awash in tears. Jameson is going to be so crushed when she passes. I feel so sad for him because so much is going awry right now in his life. I know he's getting stronger, but Iris is such a big part of that. The house and money will be a nice buffer, but it won't begin to make up for the loss of her actual presence in his life. *sigh* These characters, as you can easily see, feel like real people to me, Gretchen. You're doing the greatest job here!!! xoxox

He will miss her but have a nice connection to her through her photo albums and her estate. Don't worry. He'll be fine. Thanks so much for this nice review. Gretchen

Everybody should have an Iris in their life. She's a very special person. I'm glad you created her. Jamison needed her in his life, and, she needed him. I really like this story. Thank you for creating it and sharing it.

We are all going to die for sure, and I for one, am in no hurry to get there. But I do hope that when it's my turn, there will be someone around who lets me check out on a happy note like Jameson is doing for Iris. Thanks for sharing.

Awww. I sense we are nearing an end. This is so sweet. I continue to love this relationship. The kindness, the mutual affection. Just wonderful to read. Thank you, again.

I think Iris's attorney knows just enough tricks to keep things on the sly for Jameson. Thank you for this. Gretchen

I wonder, is it a coincidence that there is an ad for Cremation Information just below? I was going to seriously tear up, but that cracked me up. I did warn you I could have a dark sense of humor. I am attempting to edit one of my larger stories into bite size portions. what would you recommend as an average size chapter? How many words? When can your loyal, faithful, kindhearted fans and followers expect another chapter? It would be swell if Claire got more involved with her guy, and she gives him open custody, she wants to go to Dubai with her boyfriend for a month, he gets Finn and Amanda. Claire stays longer and longer Amanda and Jameson get close and personal. You could do a chapter years in the future, him at Iris' s grave site catching her up. I hope Finn's 16 and beyond Clair's reach, she was dumped by her beloved for a newer model, and Jameson has his own small publishing house, is happily married to someone and has a houseful of kids.
Until I see your Chapters, that;s what bthey are doing in my head. It's a crowded place in there.

Thank you. You've given me quite a bit to chew on. Lol. As for your piece, I shy away from pieces longer than 1800 words. Unless you love the author. But I'm not a reader, per se. I like short and concise. Gretchen

I guess since i read so much and so fast, I enjoy the long form. That, and i am incredibly impatient. This story of yours where di you get your idea? It seems so close to your heart? Did an important person die recently? My momma died recently, and I mentioned her a little, but I am not ready to do her full justice yet. I mentioned her here and there. I mentioned her pretty good in "Genoa, Texas" and 5 cents a glass. But there a a whole world of stuff I can say. But I can't really write yet. Love your stuff. Karen

Aww, I welled up. Iris and Jameson are such lovely characters, and you've done such a lovely job bringing them to life. I love that the lawyer will make sure Jameson's wife will not get half of his inheritance, I could see that happening. And then, wouldn't it be wonderful if his children's book is a huge success? That would wipe the supercilious grins off the doubters faces. I love this story, and one part of me doesn't want it to end, another part does because I want to see how it ends! Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xx

What a beautiful switch to the story, you are indeed a good writer Gretchen, and I should know, I've waded through an awful lot of material over the years, in fact I do lot more reading than writing, but it tickles my writing bone, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Beautiful. Iris is exactly like a loving grandmother to him. I love the relationship they have. I think J will be embarrassed to be her beneficiary but he is a good kind and strong man. Lovely story, and very well written. I think I am enjoying it because they are both ordinary and there is no forced artificial drama. It reflects life. Well done.

They both have stuff going on but their friendship is very low key. Thank you very much for this. Gretchen
