Odd... These are my thoughts nearly every time I pray over some concern I have, yet I'm often told I should pray over the smallest things that bother me by other Christians.
In my mind, I am always struggling, not wanting to 'bother' my Father when there are so many more important issues, and so many people suffering much worse.
Too, when I take communion -- the curse of an active imagination, I guess -- I picture what our Saviour went through to save me.
Your poem speaks to me!

Thanks for the great review, Dawn. I try not to bother The Big Guy very often, but there are times when He is really needed. Little things can turn into big ones.

You're very welcome, Paul -- always a pleasure.

Wow.
This is enlightening for me. When things are bad I do often complain, though to myself. No one wants to hear someone else's problems.
You are in fact correct in how God sustained the greatest loss of all. We have no right to complain to Him.
I'm going to bookmark this so I have it readily available to me when needed (at least that is what I think bookmarking does).
Have a great day and good luck in the contest.

Thanks, John. I think we all tend to complain a little too much.

Excellent. We never have and never will suffer anything like what He suffered for our salvation. We have little comprehension of that. Best wishes for your entry.

Thanks, Wendy. Did you see the movie, The Passion of the Christ?

I have the DVD but I have never been able to watch it right through.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
This verse flows excellently (in sonnet form) with unforced rhyme and is a pleasure to read. Your message about your faith and your journey of strength is a fine, resolute one. As too is your advice to remember, in times of woe, Jesus' own suffering in our name. Good luck in the contest! A strong contender! Debbie

Thanks, Debbie. That was a sad day on Calvary.

Well done poem with a terrific message. Jesus was sacrificed for the sins of us all, your words tell it like it is. Stop complaining and start understanding that we are lucky just to be here. A great poem.

How true this entry be. Anyone with faith can see. It wasn't easy not even for He who voluntarily became the sacrificial
Lamb so we could return after theSon himself went back to his father again

Thanks for the review, Tom. Really good summary.

This is a well-written poem with a great message. Your rhyming is perfect. We as humans have a tendency to gripe to the Lord about many things. He is watching over everything that concerns us. If we take the problem to God in conversation and prayer, we can trust Him to answer us.

Thanks for the review. God must have a lot of patience to listen to all of us.

Life can be hard at times, but when we put it in perspective compared to those who have lost more, it becomes easier to bear. When compared to what the Father went through, it is hard to complain.
Good luck in the contest.

Thanks, Debi. Sometimes it's hard to put things in perspective.

That is a sobering perspective! It's easy to complain about trivial things like having to wait or not getting replies from children but then we can always remember what God through Christ has done and suffered for us. Best wishes in the contest!

Thanks, Helen. You are right. We should just let the little things slide.

I am thankful for Christ's completed work on the Cross. I know He died approximately 2000 years ago for sins past, present, and future. That means, though I wasn't around, He washed with His shed Blood my sins that were way ahead in the future!

Thanks for the review, Jim. You would think that after 2000 years we would have a better grasp of things.

I'm thankful i met The Lord before it was too late for me!
