Very nice writing. The ending line was perfect. My favorite stanza:
We made together a haven for hurting hearts,
a sanctuary in an office complex,
with sunlit windows for the doctors,
and gorgeous pictures for us--

I've worked in several places where I sat on one side of the lunchroom, and everybody else was on the other side. I just read my book and smiled. What a wonderfully written poem.

This is the first time I have seen your work. I am heartened by how openly people write. I am basically a short story fiction writer.
And fiction mostly. A lot of the best writers like you just cut open a vein and let it flow. I can bash my husband over the head with an iron skillet for going into my secret drawer and eating my"PEEPS", but, i can not write about his addictions. Kudos to you. You are a very good writer.
