Nicely written.
I like how you identified the piece in Author's Notes.
It reads like a Christmas newsletter that is to be inserted into all the cards being sent to semi-close friends and extended family, keeping them updated (except for the boyfriend/girlfriend hints of intimacy parts)
Best wishes.

Thank you for the review and comments. I get that a lot about it sounding like news letter to family. I hope that isn't a bad thing.

Occasionally, that's what families do. This was the first of your posts to sound that way, so it came across as natural.

I enjoy reading about real life and young people's infatuations and indecisions. I guess, it takes me back to those times so long ago when I struggled to stay in accord with life. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric. I appreciate you continuing to read about all my kid problems. It make people glad that they are too old to deal with all that any more.

Reading your stories, draws up memories of when our three were growing up. Different stories but it's all triggered.

I guess when CiCi moved away, the "love" wasn't that strong as he seemed to move on quickly.

Good post.
John

Thank you John, Yes love among the love doesn't always last a life. Before summer camp ended, he was in love again.

Your story always takes my mind to the days my Mary and I was raising our kids. My second daughter, we put in Hardy College, thinking it was the best. Wrong. It lasted one semester. Love your stories. They have so much to offer in simplicity.

Thank you for the great review and comments. We only do the best we can with our kids and hope things work out in the end. There are something hard lessons they have to learn.

You always end with a good cliffhanger and the reader anxious to read the next chapter. I love the story of the dog and hope he found another home. I can't believe the ignorance of that teacher. Possession by demons? That's Middle Ages stuff.

Thank you for the excellent review and comments. Our house was several miles from where the kids originally found the dog. I hope he made it hope. I guess he had interesting vacation in Florida.

And a cliffhanger in this one to keep us enthralled. More lovely excitement from your amazing life. Thank you for continuing with this. I continue to marvel at you.

Thank you for the review. It is sort of a cliff hanger. Maybe I'll get back to it by tomorrow.

Having seen up close on numerous occasions a friend having epileptic seizures, it would be easy for kids to think that teacher was the one possessed with demons.

Your college experience reminds me of my own. When I was 49 years old, I decided to go back to school and get a degree in sport and exercise studies. I was the only "old lady" in all of my classes, and the problem I had with that was when we did "group" assignments, and the young men expected me to do all the work and them just show up for the grade. Whenever this happened, I went to the teacher and told them exactly what was going on. The young men were never happy about receiving a failing grade for the project.

I imagine that little dog ended up going home - he just needed a vacation first!

The Shelby family saga continues:-)

Thanks for sharing, Beth,

Pam

Thank you for the review and comments. I had a half first cousin with epileptic seizures. They can be scary. I was with her at a funeral when she had one. Being the oldest one in class is not exactly my idea of fun either.

Reading your stories reminds me how busy our lives were years ago. Like you, I look back and wonder how I did it all. In later years, I had an elderly uncle and mother I cared for. Now, I need a caregiver. hahahaha Keep writing your stories.

Thanks, Yes I got to be caregiver for my Dad and later husband. I'm likely to need on before long. I don't know how we did it all either those kids never let us rest.

No doubt the way we are able to control or keep our kids in a certain area when they are young dramatically shifts. What I read reminded me of some of our struggles and concerns when our kids had loves or crushes, and when they were alone. Sounds like you and your husband did your best and capable job of navigating uncharted waters.

Thank you for a great review. We did the best we good. Each child is a little different and it not easy handling four but all you do is best you can with God's help.
