It is always a memorable time in appearance. Life is when the first one leaves the nest. I enjoyed your story very much. I am glad that it turned out pretty well for you. Have a great day and may God bless you richly. Patricia

Thank you Patricia, I glad you reviewed this one because it liked one more review getting recognized, and it would be next one to expire.

I had chicken pox, but now they give the vaccination, so none of my kids had it. Oh my goodness, Beth. I laughed so hard when I read 'guess who missed the bus.'

One suggestion: In this case, I think Strawberry Shortcake should be capitalized since it's a name.

Everybody's adventures in parenting are different, but they are an adventure, that's for sure.

Thank you Faith. you are right. Kids are an adventure for parents. Everyones story is different and some new is always happening.
The chickrn pox vaccination came along to late for mer. Now there is vaccinations for everything and some child might not be able to tolerate it. I say that because I lost my first baby from having the whooping cough vaccine. The vaccine company paid but it didn't bring back my child.

Haha! This reminded me of the year my daughter, then 4 years old, got chickenpox for Christmas. Memorable:-)

My husband so wants to take a trip to the Ozarks, but after watching the Netflix show, "Ozark", I wouldn't be caught dead there. (No pun intended.)

I'm surprised Don was able to change his schedule without a parent signing off on it, but I guess if it helped him to meet his work schedule, his supervisor was down for it.

And he got his first plane ride out of it - not bad, Don!

Another entertaining tale of family life at Beth's:-)

Looking back on our children's first experiences bring joy and also frustrations and aggravations of what went right and everything that could go wrong. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

The school system is quite different so I didn't quite get all of it. (Here the core subjects are all compulsory.) But nevertheless it was an interesting story about Don and his adventures. Maybe he was sick of always being with his sisters. My older brother hated having four younger sisters always around. It was a well written piece, and I always enjoy your family stories.

Thank you Wendy. No doubt he was sick of so many females in his life but he soon got interested in some of the females he was going to school with.

Another nice contribution. Is this what you've posted as a book I saw on facebook I think? Timeshares are sure a boogie bear for people. Lawyers are now making a killing getting people out. My wife's family originates from Arkansas and when we were up in Missouri last year we saw firsthand how majestic the Ozark areas can be.

Your three children must be appreciative for what you did for them. My sisters got whatever they wanted. Me, the sole heir with the family name a chicken! ð???

That must have been a trying time having Don so far away. I bet you were a nervous wreck. Did he get the right courses after that? I guess he got the electives out of the way.

Thank you for the review. His high school years left a lot to be desired and caused him problems in college. I'm sure he learned by being on his own and far from home but I wished he stayed close a while longer.

Thank you Beth for this next lovely chapter! Quite a moment for the family when Don leaves home and I can imagine your worry and concern for him. Your story reads as ever fluently and I only have one small edit - para starting Years ago.... companies (started).. Another great job! Thanks again Debbie

Thank you Debbie. I really hated seeming my only son going so far away. They have to start growing up some time but I though he still needed parental guidance.

Yes, I remember you told us that Don missed the bus but taking the plane home actually got him home before the other students. You certainly took a huge step of faith to send him to a boarding school like that.

Companies startied selling vacation (started)

Thank you, Helen. It took quite a bit of arm twisting to get us to agree but in spite of messing up his schedule, he learned a lot that year.
