Hi Kay,
This is a wonderful story about how some family members find time for faith and some don't. You were lucky to have your grandmother as a teacher. It is good that you studied other religions before choosing your own.
Congrats for placing third in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great day.

Hello Joan, Many thanks for your great review. One member of FS told me to make up my mind to be a Christian and not to follow indigenous teachings! I was gobsmacked, he is a Pastor and has been a friend for a long time. I told him not to insult me. He finally sent me more of his poems about god.
Thank you, my friend. K xx

I missed reading this before the contest, but want to congratulate you on this beautiful story of your faith. It is true that organized religion, or the "church" tends to complicate things for those who seek to believe. Faith is simple. You learned this from your grandmother and from listening to your heart. Thanks for sharing this story. Blessings always.

Hi K,
Helen told me I should come by and read this particular story of yours, as I have my own personals ideals about faith... which don't necessarily go hand-in-hand with having to be a church goer, or even believing in the totality of the many versions of man deciphered bibles. I think no matter who we are, faith is an intricate part of most of our lives. Some folk may need a jolt in life to try and discover that journey, some may come by it through nature, through the eyes of our Creator, others may be desperate to live, and then find their faith through hope.
It takes true dedication to have real faith, no matter the avenue... belief in something greater than oneself, a knowing of salvation.
I wish you nothing but well wishes in this contest K.
Enjoyed reading you candour.
With our thoughts we create...
the path of true knowledge.
Kind regards,
James.

Your grandmother was a wise lady, Kay, God created all living things, and all colours, all animals, and the lovely things that are on our beautiful world. I haven't been to church in years, mainly because I have no time for the hypocrites who run it, and the many who go to have their sins forgiven so they can have a clean slate for the following week. I don't think God would approve of how rich the churches are now, with the poor beggars sitting on the church steps, often told to leave. Yes, your grandmother had it right, my friend. And so do you. Good luck in the contest, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

Hi Sandra, Hope you had a great BBQ. Religion has done so much damage and killed so many people. Yes, wealthy hypocrites at that. Love, Kay xx

Because Mum didn't have me baptised it started me on a journey of discovering different religions. I don't believe in religion, I believe in our God and Jesus. Love, Kace xx

and that's what God askes of us...to believe
in Him and Jesus...and love them...
and if you believe in God's words...
that's all you need...
love you...xxoo

Your declaration of faith and how your faith was developed was clearly written and easily understood. It was unexpected that an Aboriginal grandmother taught you about faith in God, and the love of Jesus. However, your faith made Jesus the center of your life. Best wishes in the contest.

I really enjoyed your story about your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is true without him. We are nothing. I wish you the very best day and I wish for you that you will be in comfort. Since I have been in rehab for almost 4 weeks. I am getting stronger and should be able to go home on 1 August. Patricia.

I loved your testimony! Thank you for sharing about how you came to faith starting with your early questioning and the wise counsel that your dear grandmother told you about. Hope this does well in the contest!
I have been reading a New Testament written by tribes of First Nations people of the U.S. and I love how they made it so much more understandable for First Nations people instead of making it so culturally white.
Minor punctuation/capitalization suggestions:
that a person would keep their word or faith in god. (God)

Thanks so much, Lena and for promoting my story. Our First Nations people were forced into wearing white man's clothes. Women were raped by whites and children education in so-called Christianity. Now our govt has decided to have a vote on having our people included in our Constitution. Not going to change a thing. Love, K. xx

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on faith and the path you took to find it. Your grandmother sounds like a wise woman and very compassionate as she tried to help, but not force your faith.
I love personal examples that support ideas and you did it well.
Best of luck in the contest.
