You may not have intended it to be sad, Bud, but when you've loved a beautiful woman like Zoe for as long as you had and you've latched onto what made your marriage essentially blessed ... and you have the uncanny ability to express the core of your love with your reader ... this reader can't help but wipe away a tear. It's a binding tear, though. And cleansing.

Zoe will forever provide you with writing material. She was so vibrant in her life that she lives on in what you write and how we other writers admire your humor and other thoughts.

Beautiful! Every word you wrote is authentic. I watch, "Murder She Wrote," episodes imaging my mom is helping me figure out ,'who done it.' I watch 'The Jeffersons' reruns and imagine my dad laughing every time their maid calls George Jefferson a shrimp. At my dad's wake I couldn't find the right words for comments like I did at my mom's wake so I made changes to The Jeffersons theme song and told my dad, before he was buried, "Daddy, You're movin on up to the big time, to a deluxe Heaven-cloud, in the sky. You loved fish fryin in the kitchen, you loved lamb spinning on a grill; it took a lot of pain and dedication to move the white fence up and down that hill Now, like your Mets, your big-league, getting your turn at bat With Mommy and others, celebrating you, there aint nothing wrong with that. You're movin on up to the big time, to a deluxe Heaven-cloud, in the sky; You're movin on up to the big time, you finally have your wife, Panicky back by your side!
Part of the reason your story reminded me of this is that my dad had several endearing nicknames for my mom. She would be busy cooking, washing dishes, and he'd be trying to get her attention, with every nickname he had, "Pinick" "Beba" "Baee" "Koukla" etc etc. Each time, when she was hustling around the kitchen, busy, trying to her "thing" catering to all their kids as adults, making their favorite foods, feeding them ten helpings AFTER they first said they're full So, he'd me around her, speaking all the loving nicknames to her, and she would keep hustling, just saying, "get off my ass!" It was sweet and sad and pathetic too watching my poor dad. But when their weren't around, she'd be feeding his sweet tooth face withall her Greek honey and farina treats and other foods.

The eternal love you describe for Zoe is so obvious to see. My dad was older than Mt non and he never thought she would die before him and when she did, he was lost. He lived to see his 100th year, and he called for "Beba" or "Bae" whenever he felt lonely and missed her, but I'm sure they are now together just happy and feeling love and when I pray I feel my mom is listening, helping me through this life I still have to live and as she's helping me he's trying to call her sweet nicknames and she's saying "Get off my ass," because wherever she is, even in Heaven, if she is helping her kids, she just can't be interrupted.

My dad lost his mom at 5 years old and his wife my mom when he was in his late 90s, and I do imagine that my dad now is back with my mom , and also with his mom again, finally.

Zoe is with you every single day and night and when you watch the movies she would have loved, she is definitely with you became Love never dies and she was full of love for you, so her love is fully with you every day just as it ever was. Love never ever dies.

Have a good day with Zoe!

Your friend,

Alex. :))

This is beautifully expressed, Terry! Not full of sentimental slush but a story told with honesty, humour and an inspirational magic. If I had a 6 left, you would have it. Lovely video too. Perfect! Take care Debbie

You are far from dementia or psychosis my friend. You are merely human like the rest of us.

My wife loves those "ladies getting married to the wrong man, meets right man, has last minute altar save, rides of in the sunset" wedding movies.

You were very blessed. But you know that, my friend.

Always remember the great words of Emilio Esteves in Young Guns. "I shall finish the game, Sir. I shall finish the game."

Try the ice cream.

Your story is touching. My husband was a tough macho man, but I always called him Babe. People thought it was hilarious. One thing he was not, was a Babe. I find myself talking to him too. Good writing.

That was a lovely walk through a memory, Terry. The Sweet Baby is definitely a unique endearment. I simply go with 'sweetie' for my husband. My two older sons each have a unique nickname from their first name, and I also call them 'sweet pea.' My youngest son would not allow me either of those options. I'm still not sure why though I am allowed to call him 'bubbie'. I cannot recall how it started, but it is the only term of endearment I am allowed to use with him. I am sure The Sweet Baby still enjoys movie nights. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing the pet name you had for your wife. Sounds like you two had a great marriage and I can understand how you miss her and still want to talk to her. True love never dies.
