Ugh!!! DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU, Gretchen Hargis!!! This is just THE freaking most beautiful story imaginable!!! SO intelligently written, yet so sustainably emotional without even ONCE going over the edge.

I just love the way this lawyer is smitten over a barista, and Iris is the one who makes him smart enough to go for the gusto.

And now I see that Jameson is about to inherit something valuable...more than her love and her wisdom, which is where the REAL treasure lies...but I'm not worrying that, because that will probably make him way more appealing to his social climber wife, he'll be stupid and let her back in. At least, that's what I'm hoping. I'm eager to see how that part turns out.

Part of the reason Iris is keeping this from him is because of the wife, Claire. Jameson is having time to see who she really is. He's starting to take his first steps of independence. Iris is wise. Thanks for this. Gretchen

I love this chapter. There are so many emotions ... Mitchell in love, and iris dying.

Iris is leaving all her possessions to Jameson, that's so sweet. I wonder how he will react.

Poor old Iris. She's seen her attorney and made out her last will, and a few other things, and introduces Mitchell, her attorney to the most beautiful barista in town, love struck he'll try to ask her out before someone else has the opportunity. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Iris also helped Mitchell. She's so sweet. Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm glad she's not going to tell Jameson. He wouldn't be happy. I'm glad Iris is doing it for him.

two things:
first, this is just darling! I absolutely love your characters, and the lawyer is another good one - kind, personable, and in love - how neat!
Second, I was so hoping that Iris would leave her wealth to Jamieson! And I also hope he gets a divorce before he gets the money so Claire cant get her greedy hands on it.
eagerly awaiting next chapter.

That's part of the reason Iris isn't telling Jameson. She is afraid he will tell Claire. Thank you for this. Gretchen

I certainly understand her feelings about things that had once been treasures and leaving them for nieces and nephews who has not called to check on her in years. Dealing with her wishes makes her Lawyer see that times being wasted. He takes her advice to ask the lady of his dreams out on a date! Isn't that wonderful? LOL Jameson is in for a huge surprise when he receives the news about his inheritance. Well done, Gretchen. Nancy:)

Absolutely. Life's too short isn't it. The old adage of we could get run down by a bus tomorrow, so carpe diem. Still enjoying this story and just love the way your characters are so ... human.

This is very well written and very touching. I guess even when you old, love can turn you into a shy youngster. Good advice for Mitchell and the readers.

This was a short chapter filled with a lot of important information, most importantly Iris leaving all or a significant portion of her estate to Jameson. I wonder how this will impact Claire's decision, if she finds out.

Another good chapter. Looking forward to the next chapter.
