WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! I also love Hessy. I love everything about every part of this story...well, except that super bitch of a (hopefully) soon-to-be ex-wife, Claire. I'm so glad that he stuck to his guns even the next morning!!!! Go JAMESON!!!!!
(Well, okay, go GRETCHEN...because she always writes INTELLIGENT characters who I'm totally proud of and can easily root for!! Never any stupid BS stuff. Just smart and strong...not unlike the author, herself!!!!)
XOXOXOXOXO

Thank you. But need I remind you, "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain." LOL. I do appreciate this. Seriously. Gretchen

Another good one! You really get personalities down well, like Jamieson's thought processes, and Claire's selfish shallowness.
I look forward to each chapter - sign of a good writer! They are most enjoyable.

You continue to entertain and intrigue with this lovely relationship and the haven it offers each of them from the trials and tribulations of their lives. I continue to read these chapters with great satisfaction.

Claire seems to nourish 'dog in the manger' attitude. it is better if he put all his cards on the table.
You write with clarity and the dialogues also are well done .I am ery eager to read the next..

Good reading, again. I love all your stories. Always keen for the next chapter. Keep it coming and I should reciprocate. I will write a note soon, to let folks know what is going on with me.

I am so glad that he called her, and that they will have coffee soon. It can't come soon enough. And yes, he now realises that he never had a quality life (let alone perfect) with Claire. What a cruel reaction to his book. Very well written. I'm very caught up in it.

Gretchen.
I thought this was one of the best chapters of your book.
Jameson finally grew a pair and decided to fend for himself and in the best interest of Finn.
Seems like he wants to rectify with Claire but is not backing down.
Great post
Cheers,
John

Well, thank you very much. It's hard to root for a guy who doesn't ever stand up for himself. I'm glad you liked it. Gretchen

This is a very well written chapter. I always love it when Iris answers his calls and it seems to give him some sort of hope about life. I found this one thing for you to check on please:
This is the story of their unlikely friends
did you mean their unlikely friendship?
love and blessings, Teri

Jamison, with Iris's help finally understands his wife. She couldn't be proud of him when his story was published because she didn't love him enough to make the effort. It's good he turns to Iris instead of breaking down and crying.

The ending of this sounded like a May-December romance was budding on Jameson's end. Stranger things have happened.
I hold the phone for a long time. Willing her to call me back, and willing myself not to call her. I had to sound cold. But I didn't feel it. [Gretchen, it sounds like you've been through this emotion a time or two. It translates beautifully here. I can certainly feel them myself. Great job on that.]
I'm thrilled it's early enough in the week that I still have a six!

Thanks, Jay. I have been the bad cop a time or two. Felt like crying and giving in but had to stand firm. This review means a lot to me. Gretchen
