Ciao Marco!

Your poem brought back fond memories. I remember buying a disposable kodak once ..and it produced great pics despite I had no experience.

I took pics of a stray kitten I had saved and cared for, hoping to find a forever home for her.

My father had a good camera but he used it seldom.

Your closing line is perfect.

That is a clever play on words though I'm not sure younger people even recognize Kodak or even film for photographs. Everything is digital these days. But that doesn't take away from your poem. I particularly liked your final line. Thank you for sharing.

Beautifully done. I remember those Kodak moments. Not happening any more with digital photography. Well said. And a stunning photo. Best wishes for your entry.

    Wendy,

Thank you for your review. We all have those Kodak moments - some reside now in photo scrapbooks and others ingrained in our brains.

Excellent entry for the 5-7-5 Poem Contest.
Kodak moment brings memories. LoL

Well crafted haiku. Great satori. This entry is my favorite so far.

I like the presentation too. Concrete images easy to visualize.

Good syllables count and connection between lines.

Good luck in the contest.

I enjoyed this clever write and play on words, this moment has been captured by a manmade invention so that we can mark time and create a glimpse of history before we miss all these special, we can look back and reflect on the photograph, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

I like that use of the "Kodak moment" expression and to follow that up with the "fully developed" is perfect. Each day's sunrise and sunset provide that moment. Best wishes in the contest!

Thanks for your review and support for my poetry contest moment (-; One may debate which is more spectacular - sunrise or sunset? Of course, I typically do not see that early morning view, especially in the summer months LOL

Very cool interpretation of the original slogan of the corporate giant. (which actually got its start here in my hometown of Rochester, NY) You definitely found a photo worthy of your words. Good luck in the contest. May it bring you the kind of success George knew!!

    Flour/Flower City gal Rachelle!

Thanks for your review and stars.

Now with digital devices and iPhones, there is no need to wait to process and develop those Kodak moments/images taken with my SLR cameras. And it is now much easier to share the same with others - almost instantaneously!

Yeah...we've come a long way, Baby! (That was another famous ad campaign slogan! Do you recognize it?)

I know it, but I never was a smoker. In a previous lifetime, I had dinner once or twice at the famous Medina Inn (exact restaurant name has been long forgotten).
reply by Rachelle Allen on 10-Jul-2023
Me, neither; but it was a very "hip" ad campaign when life was allllllll about The Women's Movement.

I'm not familiar with Medina, other than knowing it's in the area and I'd hear its name often when school closings were announced.

It was the Apple Orchard Inn, but I think it no longer is in business. My work assignment took me to Albion for a half dozen times.

A beautiful sea- and skyscape illustrates a perfectly formed and formatted 5-7-5 haiku poem. Nothing to suggest at all in the technique, as it is perfect for this site.
The first line seems to consist of three separate words, linked by the effect of the rising sun, which is described in line two as your 'singular (good word) Kodak moment'. You have captured an exquisite view, perfectly framed, with just the right exposure and depth of field - best ever - straight into the album of 'best ever' moments.
But the satori makes the poem, with a sly and delicious pun - 'fully developed' not only refers to the photographer's art, but also to the idea you had of an ideal seascape - a perfect moment in time.
Congratulations on developing an excellent poem.
Paul

    Paul,
Thank you for an extraordinary review of this contest entry. Methinks the nuances you provided are above my original idea. My original satori line draft was: "sea waves splash color" to more accurately parallel the artwork, but the developed was what Kodak did when we used film to process our prints.

I think this is much better.
    Good luck with it.

An excellent rendering of a 5-7-5 haiku. I love the double meaning for "fully developed."
Sunrise reveals the day like a developing photo. The Kodak reference needs to survive. T-Mobile does not lend itself to pretty poetry.

Thanks Nancy for your kind words. Methinks digital pictures are now as good or better than those many pictures I took with my 35 SLR cameras. And it costs nothing to see them (or to delete them) or to send them to others rather than USPS.

    I didn't say I don't love digital 😁, poetic or not, it's now a staple.
