It is really through being with Iris that Jameson found his voice. He got strong.
It seems odd, that most people "fall" in love and then proceed to try to change them completely. Once, and if this was accomplished, they leave. You write a deeply felt involving story. More. I want more. Got more reading to do.

Oh, YESSSSSSSS!!!! You GO, Jameson!!!! Look at how strong and smart and SAVVY and RIGHT you are being!!!! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! Look what listening to the wisdom of your friend Iris has DONE for you!!!!!!!

Awesome chapter!!!

PS, I absolutely loved this sentence: A walking think is much more productive than a wallowing think.

So true!!!

You rock, Gretchen!!! You are a SERIOUSLY talented writer. xoxoxo

Thank you for this awesome review. Sitting and thinking translates to standing still. Walking means progress. Gretchen

I think he should be firm and not always be a victim to the 'victim card'. She obviously does not want a divorce but for some strange reason she wants to put a front ...

I think she wants a divorce but wants to make sure she still has her options. Lol. A girl can't be too careful. Thank you for this wonderful review. Gretchen

Some women enjoy the role of a victim. I'm glad Jameson has figured this woman out. He will be better for it. Good write.

Her voice catches as she tries to speak. "You're just giving up then?" (speak,)

Oh, I wish I had a six for this one! I was shouting (in my mind) DON'T GIVE IN!! And he heard me! It's about time she had a taste of her own medicine. Perhaps now she will see what she's missing. Fin loves his dad, Claire will see that soon. Well done, my friend, this was brilliant!! :)) Sandra xx

Good for him! It is about time he took a stand.
Claire seems to be unaware of the heartache she
is causing Jameson. She is acting like a spoilt
child. It's time for her to feel the pain of
uncertainty and loss. Well done. Gretchen. Nancy:)

Alright! Jameson takes a stand though it probably sickens him on the inside.

How much time does she need? She's trying to live out a fairy tale with an average Joe (there's absolutely nothing wrong with the average Joe). Jameson is who he is.
Poor Finny is stuck in the middle.

This is an excellent chapter, Gretchen and getting better!

Cheers. John

Thank you so much, John. I never wanted a fairytale, just someone who would work as hard as I do for a strong marriage. I got it. Maybe that is the real fairytale. Lol. I really appreciate this. Gretchen

Goo. An excellent chapter. Jameson is a considerate young man who has a lot of integrity, and he is thoughtful and considerate towards Iris. I am glad he is taking a stand re Claire. This will show her that he is strong, not a pushover she can manipulate. I just hope it doesn't backfire on him, and that a reasonable outcome will occur. (I always get attached to your characters!!) Well written, interesting, and engaging.

This is a terrific, realistic recital of a marriage break-up. There are other sorts of course, but shifting the blame and inventing excuses to make oneself the victim is as good as any. Very well done. kay

Thanks so much, Kay. Claire is a manipulative tail. I feel you need one in every story. Lol. She happened to draw the short straw. I really appreciate the extra star. Gretchen

Jameson is doing the best thing he can, he's calling Claire on her not making a decision. I suspect she has never appreciated him if she thinks he will be a wimpy example for their son. Well-written and didn't spot any errors.
