This is so well written, and very well describes what is going on in our world today. I had to get those calls from unknown sources wanted me to buy gold arch and wanting my Social Security number or any number of things. I have come to the point where I just do not recognize a number on my phone I just do not answer at all. I wish you the very best with all of your writing and I hope you will check out my work as well.

Thanks for the excellent review and the sympathetic remarks in regard to all those robocalls we all seem to get. Thank God for caller ID! Maybe those are the kind of robots that we can use...estory

Hi E,
You have sent out a very timely message and in a format that suits it well. It does have the sense of being clipped and mechanical.
I'm glad you explained the ambiguity of your meaning about the machine as I was trying to figure it out, in a good way, because I like posts that make me think...ouch, lol, and your point is so well made.
Before COVID, we were often concerned about the isolationism caused by technology, and now with the quarantine, some things will never go back to normal. In some ways, that was inevitable, but in others, not so good, and your poem highlights that.
Thanks for sharing,
Rhonda

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my theme. I am glad the mechanics of the construction seemed to work in underscoring that theme. The thing about technology to me is that it is soulless. It is logical, It usurps the role of God. estory

excellent point!

We all need to spend less time in the machine. It's messages can be depressing and not necessarily true Being in the machine you'll hear enough to blow your mind. Before the machine we were all more content.

You present a chillingly accurate account of our modern lives, dictated to by technological wizardry. I don't just hear whispers, I hear loud unnerving shoutings beating me over the head. You've captured the relentless nature of all these demands and incessant irritations very well in your poem.
I didn't know what a kited check was but I looked it up and am not at all surprised to discover it is yet another form of fraud.

Thanks for the excellent review and your support of my poem. I thought whispers was a bit more eerie, maybe a bit more sinister, that's why I used it. It is true that oftentimes, technology seems to be shouting down the soul. estory

I get the gist of what you are writing yet I was confused by the word kited checks. I have never heard of a kited check before does it have significance as a bounced check? Anyway, I love your comparisons to the machine inside of social media and how it affects us and all that we think of what is really going on.

Thanks for the excellent review and yes, kited checks are monies floated that are unsecured by a bank balance. I thought kited gave the appearance of something floating in mid air. estory

So, you invented the word Kited.
I see how you came up with the word... it fits well.

Sir, as to trying to keep solvent, I can say but one thing that I feel strongly about after listening to many learned people discuss it. I do not trust our government and would not count on anything they "back." I don't know what to do about buying gold and silver; even if I get coins, how do you spend them? All I know is the Government wants one global currency THAT THEY WILL CONTROL, and can bankrupt us in the wink of an eye. Also, banks are involved, which really leaves us in a bind. So, to whom do we go for advice? My stock broker, in our last meeting, said that the economy was good, and I thought (and SHOULD HAVE SAID) you've got to be kidding. So, I haven't done anything yet, and like you, am in a quandary.
Oh, also, "the machine" IS the government. Think of what they have already done: ended our oil independence, destroyed our economy, indoctrinated children, opened our borders, censored free speech - I could go on and on. It's a scary situation.

Thank you for the excellent review and I think you got exaclty what I wanted to say here. Maybe I would say the machine is the powers that be, not just the government. It includes the companies that are in some ways governments in themselves. Everything is manipulated for the benefit of the few that control the monopoly board. estory

This is a really interesting and intelligent piece. I agree entirely with your reading of the world and you have put it so succinctly in this poem. Well done and thank you for sharing this.

You are absolutely right about that you are monitored by all things electronics and computer generated. The idea of freedom is really just a smokescreen. We are really just one of the sheep in the crowd paying and paying and paying. Everything has gone up exponentially but the wages are income does not follow as quickly and what happens when the middle class disappears you have the rich. And the poor and then you have civil war and the clock starts again. I can appreciate what you've written here very much so. I find no issues with spelling, punctuation, sentence structure or subject matter. It is also aesthetically pleasing. It's a grand submission and I hope you have yourself a great day!

Thanks for the excellent review and your words of support for my poem. I am glad the construction and style seemed to work in conveying my theme. You hit on the head. We are atm machines to these companies and the ceo's who control them. And in the end, what happens in monopoly? One person controls everything. estory

Most welcome!

Yes freedom true is an illusion is it not?

You're very correct with what you're saying. I'm sure many disagree but I don't. I'm fighting with the postal service right now. In my town for some reason, our outgoing mail is coming up missing. The mail where we are paying bills. Is it being stolen to get our bank information or is it missing so we have to pay everything on-line. So far everybody I've spoken to says it's somebody else's problem. I'm about ready to call my senator.

Thanks for the excellent review and I am glad for all the support on my theme. Actually, I think everyone who commented was in support so far. I was a little surprised by that because I have run into some detractors for previous posts in this series. estory

I think we all feel like we are in a think tank sometimes and that we are being manipulated by the might machine that is our Governments and also social media with their conspiracy theories, but we still have the choice to make up our own minds. A poignant write, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on my theme. At least I got people thinking, and I like to make people think. I don't know how much control we really have over the world. We have an appearance of democracy, but in the end, the rich have always found a way to control things behind the scenes. Nobody stands for your consideration unless they have the financial backing of these behind the scenes people. estory
