I see tragedy in the making. Still very good writing. Do you know why they are so parsimonious with the sixes? I would give you one. How do you write them questions?

You only get 6 six stars per week. It's so you don't just give them to everyone. You'll get six tomorrow. It's supposed to be for the best writing. No mistakes. Don't worry about sixes with me. I just love feedback. Thank you so much. Gretchen

Oyyyyy. The Jewish Mommie in me just wants to take him and cuddle him and spoon feed him matzohball soup. He is SERIOUSLY ailing, poor sweetie.

I loved this line: being on the small side, I got stuffed in a lot of lockers. LOL...but, at the same time, that was when I wanted to start making the soup....

You're going to break my heart a million times with this story, aren't you, Gretchen, you wench! You talented writer-wench...

Wench. Love it. What 21 century woman doesn't love being called that. Lol. I promise it won't be all tears. Gretchen

Anticipation can be maddening. Just sitting back counting the minutes for the phone to ring, wondering if that special someone might be thinking about us too. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think she is thinking of him. Thank you for this. Gretchen

No, I don't think she is thinking of him. But he is thinking of her.

Another really enjoyable chapter in your book. I'm relishing getting to know your characters, especially as you make them so vivid with your descriptions and your dialogue. Well done, again!

I'm starting to get the feel for this technique. I keep waiting for one of them to emerge as the more prominent protagonist, but I don't know that that's necessary.

"I love you," I whisper to the dead line. [Very telling.]

Now to see what Iris has cooking!

Jay

Its pretty equal. Just their friendship and how they learn to trust each other and enjoy each other's company. Nothing real dramatic, hopefully just a feel good story . Gretchen

Poor Jameson. I'm glad he has Heston, and now he's met Iris. I have a feeling Iris is going to play an important role in his life. Gotta wait and see.

I had some hopefuls like Claire when I was young, although I did OK, it's a wonder I didn't go in a different direction, but God always seems to have my back.I love this, although I was never a writer until my forties, but you're right, it doesn't pay the bills, beautifully written Gretchen, blessings Roy

If I wrote to get paid, I'd have stopped a long time ago. I just like telling stories. Gretchen

My heart is going out to Jameson. He seems like a really special person, yet, Claire doesn't seem to realize that. Many women don't. I do like this story. I can't wait to read more.

Claire is a cosmopolitan kind of girl. She isn't satisfied with simple things. Jameson is. They were an I'll match from the start. Gretchen

Thisis a great setting for your story: "There is something about this woman that makes him feel safe. They go get coffee." The reader,if they are a writer, will definitely identify with this statement. I spent around $60,000 and have gotten $49 for royalties. Isn't it weird how valuable that attention is to us: "But she was the first pretty girl to pay attention to me." A hopeful ending.

Thank you. I don't write for financial gain. I'd be sorely disappointed if I did. Lol. Thanks for this. Gretchen
