Now, that must have been some storm. I see some similar at times, but they soon pass over. However, it does get a person's attention. You did well. Good post.

This is an excellent poem! Wonderful picture, as well as wonderful imagery in the words that you wrote. I love how the thunder was basically God yelling about sins. As always, you did a fantastic job with this piece. I especially liked the last two lines - lol.

Thank you. Yes, that is my beloved Michael Lee Chaddick. I still miss him terribly and it has been nearly 4 years.

Well done. Still, we expect it of you. Now, tell us the end result was everything survived without too much damage. Where is it you live? If in the midwest, violent weather would be expected.

Hi Tom. Long time no hear from. Hehe! This was actually a day that came right after we had snow in the morning. It warmed up and melted the snow and then they forecasted that the result they would call thunder-snow. I would have used that for a title but not sure if I am correct on the exact way it happened. There was no real damage except to the trampoline that went fly by and almost ended up in our picture window, hmmm, maybe should add that to the poem... thanks for the idea. Haha! I just know it was strange to experience but since I have always been intrigued with storms, I found it fun to dance around with my explanations in a poem. Thanks again Tom.

Did you know I was in Navy weather for ten years? And for thundersnow to occur, the air layer closer to the ground has to be warmer than the layers above, but still cold enough to create snow.
I experience it once in all places, S Carolina

Yeah, i don't understand it very well so when you said you did that, I was hoping you could expand on that. However, it had been warm before and then got cold and back and forth, but that is what they said it was. We had one other day where it actually thundered and lightning with snow on the ground. But we had such great amounts of snow this winter, that parts of the ground where snow melted first was a different temp. I don't understand it but let my husband explain it to me so I can screw up the translation. Lol.. this is the first year I have ever seen it.

A very detailed and evocative description of this storm brought alive with fine imagery, sound rhyming and of course this eye-catching visual. Thank you so much for sharing, Debi, and Good luck! Debbie

That is one scary picture! I like the way you present this as though a fight is raging with the weather, then the light-hearted ending presented in the last line.

Was there a tornado associated with this storm? That was the first thing I thought when I saw the picture.

Nice job for this contest - good luck:-)

Hello there my sweet birthday twin! This was actually a day that came right after we had snow in the morning. You should ask your son if he remembers the storm. I am not sure if they got it in the cities or how wide spread it was but was pretty cool. Thanks again dear friend.

Hi Debi, that certainly looks fierce, and somewhat frightening. At the same time it has a stark beauty to it the darkened. Sky against the golden field. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem with us. Ulla xx
