Lovely entry for the Life's Dance event. As oldsters, we might not step as lively as we did when we were younger, but we still have memories of the past. I like how you included the picture of the older couple and the one of them as younger, as they still remember. Such a great couple in your poem. They still have the same feelings for each other after all those years. Excellent rhyme, and a wonderful thought. judi

This is a lovely poem for the 'Life's Dance' challenge Yvonne. I love that in his vision, he still sees the young couple that they were. Love the two differents pictures you've used. Beautifully presented,
cheers,
valda

This poem, We Still Dance, presented with four ABCB-rhymed quatrains, portrays the happy, long-lasting couple, continuing the waltz which keeps them together and holding on passionately.

Hello Yvonne,
what a delightful poem. I never learned to dance, I was always too self-conscious. I don't doubt that I've missed out on something wonderful, and unfortunately, Jan probably did too. The last time we danced was at our junior - senior prom, back in 1970. Great job on this gal.
Have a blessed evening.

Thank you. I used to do ballroom dancing, even winning some contests. It's a rare thing to find anyone who still dances ballroom these days.

    Yvonne,
you never cease to amaze me. Your life is something else. I hope that you have a memoir in the works, because it might become a best seller.

This is a poignant poem. It is a lovely tribute to those who remember. It is the juxtaposition of the realists and idealists. This appears to be the crux of the tone and image. Well presented.

A lovely and meaningful poem, Yvonne. I enjoyed the reminiscing and nostalgic feeling I felt as I read it. It is a perfect response to this prompt. A lovely and strong ending stanza that supports the theme and intent of this verse. Well done.

Thank you. I used to dance ballroom. Won some contests. It's almost unheard of these days.

Still dancing at any age give us something to look forward to. Well, for all those who aren't dancing with me, as I'm the clumsy old oaf who'd likely be more apt to stepping your your toes than nimbly shuffling on my own. Thanks for sharing.

LOL. You're a very perceptive lady, but I haven't danced in years. But yes, at one time I danced somewhere every night. LOL. :-)
