Boy, you and your friends know how to have fun. Foot and mouth disease means something different here. It means sometimes who talks before they engage their brain, or someone that talks too much.. I am laying down for a while. Karen

Sounds like you have quite the crew, my friend. Memories are the gift of friendship.
I'm sure you are still a cut up. Thanks for sharing this peek into your life. My wife is actually a vocalist and has her own band. She Lao plays guitar, base, trumpet, and cello.
Good stuff.

Oh Doug I'm so sorry - We're not actually a musical band. It was just a term I used for group (but that wouldn't have been any better either!) I think I've just taken the magic out for you - so you might want to take your very kind rating back (but please don't) Thanks so much Debbie

I wondered, but sometimes my idiot side wins the day! No worries. Still a very magical piece!

Yesss! That is what has been lacking in my life - a girl band! That would have been so cool, to get together and go places. You've been very lucky in that respect, but it takes a special type to choose your profession, and it seems that created a bond also. All the best, Julie L

I enjoyed your beautiful meaningful poem. I love when stories include good and bad situations but are presented beautifully because it all represents real life.
If I understood correctly two of your band mates have passed. May they rest in God's musical Love eternally.
I was born and raised in NYC. As a child in the 1970s I loved the cartoon Josey and the Pussycats. I wanted to be Melody the drummer but my namesake, Alexandra, was the band manager. :(
Very cool interesting and touching, well-written poem from your heart! Best wishes to you! Alex :))

It sounds like you ladies lived it up, had your ups and downs, and not only found a legal and fun outlet, you also found lasting friendship and memories to last you all a lifetime.
This is well made and a great read.

I enjoy this poem about the girl band. Just as is in life we do meet Times when we lose people that belong to a group. I enjoyed your pulling very much. Patricia

Debbie,
A brilliant piece of poetry. Your band days must have been brilliant. I was in a New Grass band for some eight years; three members passed away back then, but for the sorrow I wouldn't hesitate to be there again! Thanks for your energetic rollicking Post!!! I can hear good music!

Oh I'm sorry Richard, no actual musical band, just a band of wayward women I'm afraid! But thank you for your kind feedback and even imagining I could be that exciting! Take care Debbie

Hello Debbie :)
I enjoyed reading your rhymed poem, celebrating your friendship group.
I'm sorry that some of your friends are no longer around....
Thanks for sharing the author notes, filling in some of the detail!
Best wishes as always, Debra x
For consideration, I noticed a typo - 'But, oh, the memories thay (they) left', also in your notes, it reads 'A little artistic licence licence' :)

Hi Debra, Thank you so much for this and your spelling observations. Think I'm going off my head a bit! They're a good group - just didn't want it all to sound too slushy and sentimental. Dolly said my meter is wrong in the last line - haven't got a clue how to fix it but still. Will be reading your post now. Hope all ok and you've been enjoying the sun. Take care Debbie x
