Wow, Jim, I really enjoyed your poem and the comparison of the human voice in all of its levels to different types of musical instruments. Very creative and cleverly written. Good luck.

"Talking, laughing, sobbing, screaming
Shouting, yelling, humming, or singing.
Projecting rich vibrato, whether
singing loud or soft as a feather.
Listen to Bass, Baritone, and Tenor voicing ...
Countertenor, Contralto, Alto; rejoicing,
when Mezzo-Soprano, Soprano blends in.
Hearing where the vocal sections' ends in."
Sorry to copy and paste two stanzas, but wow, I can almost 'hear' these, and of the whole poem, they're my favorite. Nicely done!

Hurray for you for celebrating the human voice as musical instrument, not to be left out of this contest. You captured all the tones and textures of a singing voice and it reads well. Good luck in the contest.

Voices are the most beautiful to me. My mother had a beautiful voice and hummed and sang all the time. I get my alto voice from her. Wonderfully penned poem of the best instruments of praise.
Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.

Comment from Jesse James Doty
This is an excellent voice of the instrument's entry for the same name in the contest. I thought the rhyme scheme needed improvement as the fourth line of each stanza fell short of the feeling of the message.
