I love it in our church when we have times when our music Director will have a sing a cappella. It is so wonderful to hear the human voices without the voice of the instruments. Patricia.

I like how your choice of instrument, the human voice. A unique choice. I particularly like the line, 'Voices are unique, like our bodies, both in gentlemen and ladies.' Thanks for sharing your lyrical poem, and best wishes in the contest.

Ciao poet,
I like your original take on this contest about musical instruments,
Yes, our voice is certainly one of the most versatile and complex instruments available. It's unique cause it is part of our biological make up..its also the first musical instrument ...our ancestors sang first and then they started to make instruments to hold and play.
Here is a very young talented singer AURORA who is performing in a Cathedral. She has an orchestra and a choir backing her up.
Her voice is beautiful and the acoustics are magical.
Enjoy.

An excellent poem in praise of the human voice with all its varieties and variations - and for all its purposes. Written with skill. A fine image to accompany your poem. Sending good wishes for the contest.

The human voice is an amazing instrument. As you point out, it is so varied from one person to another. This is not only a great description of an instrument, but wise words for life in that final stanza as all the voices blend together as we as humans will and must.
Best of luck in the contest.

JLR,
This is an excellent entry in the Musical Instrument(s) contest. You have brilliantly captured the majesty of the human musical instrument - the voice masterfully. You may want to revised the rhyme in line 2 of stanza 1 and line 3 in stanza 4.
Here are two Suggestions:
Voices are unique, like our bodies,
of both gentlemen and ladies.
Each singer deploys their voices limber
with an array of pitch and timbre.
All the best in the contest,
Eugene

I am not a musical person but I am in awe of those who can sing and carry a tune. I am also astonished by those who can play music and compose it. It is like magic to me. I don't understand how it is possible. Thank you for posting this. Gretchen

Such a beautiful poem, and deserving of six stars, but alas I am out of those. My oldest son took piano and drum lessons, my youngest daughter played violin, and my youngest son played guitar. My other daughter was more of an athlete than a musician, but I think it is SO important that people explore their musical talents.

Thank you, JLR for an honest poem for musical instrument primarily in the voice. I think the voice is like the fingerprint, closely analyzed no two are alike.
Best of luck in the contest.
Cheers,
John

I enjoyed your unique and interesting contest
entry, JLR. You did a great job with the end rhymes,
the smooth flow, and the superb details. You gave
readers great info on the human voice as a musical
instrument. The picture was a great addition.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest, Jan
