This story was hilarious! I like the note he wrote for the bank - that was quite an ending! Thank you for sharing this here, and best wishes to you.

This is a humorous eighty word flash fiction contest entry. It starts with the mystery of what Amos had to write. The story develops with the memory of the lawn service and the postal carrier. Finally...the unexpected twist. Amos plans to rob a bank. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

AS timely message and warning about losing focus. Though you meant no harm, "Someone is going to get a big hurt!" In the words of comic Russel Peters. It pays to pay attention. I'm talking to you Bill Schott!

Okay, okay. Amos was me. I did remember to go to the bank, but when I sent the note through the pneumatic tube all they did was laugh.

This is a case where being a laughing stock did not hurt.

Hello Bill :)
Amos is such a busy bloke writing complaint letters, that he almost forgot the most important note and that he had a bank to rob! Love it!
I enjoyed reading your flash fiction post. It's well written, engaging and humorous. Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra

I wish Amos good luck with that robbery. He is going to need it with a memory like he has. He is likely to forget to take the cash and flee. Maybe once he gets to jail there will be poeple to tell him what to do next. LOL

He may forget about the bank altogether.
Comment from Pam Lonsdale
I'm assuming Amos has an issue with his memory, as you reference at the beginning of the story. Hopefully, he forgets the way to the bank and doesn't get himself arrested!
Clever story - the judges like twists at the end:-) Good luck.

You pack a lot of narrative into this shortie, Bill, while giving us an interesting portrait of Amos. He seems to be a senior citizen who can be persnickety about his lawn and mail, yet a bit forgetful. I'd love to see you extend this story and tell us what happens when he delivers that note to the bank cashier.

This is an entertaining flash fiction. This seemingly reasonable man, who sends out polite messages to bring order to his life, goes off the rails with a note to rob the bank. I wonder how often this happens as I suppose it does. Good flash. Good luck in the contest.
