Edge-of-your-seat story done very concisely. Great moral to the story. Good luck in the contest!
Very tiniest of punctuation suggestions:
As it lifted and circled, they could see the natives surrounding Danny who was on his knees praying.
Just put a comma after Danny.
As the natives saw the strange loud bird in the sky, they too fell to their knees, begging for mercy.
Just set apart 'too' with commas like this, and add a comma after strange:
As the natives saw the strange, loud bird in the sky, they, too, fell to their knees, begging for mercy.
One of these days I have to go find a comma book to explain why I suggest things the way I remember from A.P. English in high school, ha ha.

Ha! That's a good one. Kind of reminds me of the 2nd New Star Trek movie. Where the primitive natives of planet were chasing Kirk and Bones, then Enterprise flew overhead, and they started praying to it. Here, in a way, God saved the missionary. He works in strange ways.

Appreciate how you put that...And didn't know there was a Star Trek movie with that plotting. I am a Shatner fan though...

What a wonderful story. I wish I had a six to give you. This is a touching 80 word flash fiction that shows what God can do through prayer. Thank you for sharing it. Have a wonderful day. Shirley

Great story told in so few words! You got right to the climactic point of the story and the willingness to be sacrificed for the gospel was rewarded by the change of heart of the natives when they saw the plane. Best wishes in the contest!

What a great story you have crafted for the 80 word flash fiction. Action packed excitement. Will the missionary be martyred? We certainly didn't expect him to be saved by the big bird in the sky. Super ending.

This is a very interesting Flash for the contest I wish for you the very best in the contest. Many of prayer has been answered through the years and I don't think it's a twist of fate. I think it's something that really is important to God and he answers those prayers in the most difficult situation. Treasure

This was a great little 80 word flash. With a willing to give his life for the gospel, Danny volunteer to be left behind. His life hung in the balance but his prayers were answered when they natives saw something they'd never seen before and in fear joined Danny in begging Gof for mercy.

Thanks Beth! I'm hoping people appreciate how sometimes God takes unusual ways to message others.

I can hear it now. "Shoo Gunna, don't step in it." That big bird did the trick. Amazing how people can be outsmarted by God. LOL. Good one, Bro. Thanks for sharing.
