Oh-oh. But which one? Ralph sounds like he had more experience with the killing. Now what is he going to do with the bodies? Lots of suspense in your 100 word flash!
Congrats on your 2nd place finish!!

This is a good entry for the 100 word flash. It has suspense and drama wrapped up in only a short space. The introduction of backdrop to Connor / Ralph works well and the dramatic twist at the end leaves the reader guessing - who survived?! A great short read.

A very dramatic and unexpected ending, and I suppose that is a reflection of real life. You wrote well and clearly, and the image was well chosen. Best wishes for your entry.

It leaves me wanting more, but it is complete in itself. This was a great story with a great (non) ending. Thank you so much for sharing your story, and best wishes to you.

The thought that came to my mind straight away was that justice catches up with one or the other, I think one way or another, we will all make account for the wrong done on this earth, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Nice! You did a great job making the story line clear and easy to follow, and managed to do it in 100 words. I like the bit of ambiguity at the end, too.

Which one succeded? I guess this is a mystery thriller. Why did the neighbor ask for Richard? Why did the neighbor want to kill him? It's confusing.
Good entry for the 100 Word Flash writing prompt contest. Good flash fiction form and word count. Nice presentation.

Thank you, Gypsy. I hoped that the few hints placed Richard as a victim of the government protected nut Ralph, who may soon be a victim of the mob hitman Max.

I would add that information to your author notes, I didn't get any of that from the story. I know it's hard to fit everything in short form.
Comment from Mario PIERRE
very good flash. I like short stories when the ending asks for the reader's own imagination to kick in or deduce his own interpretation. Great job!
Good luck with the contest!!

A great 100 word story Bill and your finish gave me a chuckle. Possibly the witness was not as protected as he thought he was. Great little read, and good luck in the contest,
cheers,
