A very inspirational read. I hope it's not based on a real story! I liked your word choices - the only thing I would suggest you could improve upon is this line - When they fell, they suffered; felt lots of pain - I think you could use something stronger than telling us they felt something. Show us with your words instead of telling. But then again, I'm no poet. I'm a writer. Great job nonetheless!

No the poem is not true. I don't know what you mean. All I know is the poem is heartfelt.

It is heartfelt. I was just hoping it wasn't based on a real life tragedy.

Interesting poem that smoothly transitions from story to messaging. Meter jumps a bit but not enough to cause harm. Overall rhyming is smooth but a bit of a stretch on the "again"/"pain" couplet. Good work.

Beautiful poem in my opinion. I think the meter is great.

Kids get themselves into all sorts of trouble as they grow up and we just hope they reach adulthood without too many injuries. This is a very sad story and we don't have wells like this in England, but I know scattered across America there are wells. A poignant story and children can cause their parents much heartache. Fine rhymes in this heartfelt story, love Dolly x

Ciao poet, you have 4 votes now!

Parents have the duty to teach their children right from wrong , to teach them The word of God.

Teach them that our celestial Father is always near.

Dear Poet,
This is a very wise epic poem
on children and raising them,
guiding them in the Christian
life. This is a strong and
worthy entry. My very
best wishes. Blessings to you. ~

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

-Nice artwork and beautiful poem to go with it.
-You tell a good story with effective imagery and rhyme.
-I am sorry to hear about these boys who fell in the well,
and that one of them was your son. It must have been
harrowing for you.
-I am glad to hear that two men cared enough to
get them out of this situation.
-I agree that in time, they will heal, and some
will want to talk about it, and some won't, but
it is important if they can express their feelings,
and know that it is okay if they express them,
even if they cry.
-I also agree about forgiving a child, and showing
him/her how they went wrong, and how they
can improve and make better choices next time.
-What was the average age of these boys?
-You wrote a very good poem; good luck in the contest.
