What a great place to be - that bakery! It seems to be the heart of the community, where a pastor can show up and sign up "volunteer" teachers for his church's programs! Lol. And so much hugging! Love the way things are progressing but now I'm curious as to when Emma will call Seth by name...

A sound half chapter. I saw no editing issues beyond some comma stuff, but we all struggle with those.
It was easy going chapter, nothing heavy or exciting so far, but this niceness and slow pace will appeal to your audience. Good work.

I hate commas. I can handle the easy normal commas, but in some areas, I never get them right. I've also come to realize with professional editors, they disagree on commas too. LOl Thank you for the kind review.

Super job with the dialogue, as always. Everybody is true to character, you have great personalities in each character and we see their sense of humor and apprehensions, their hidden desires, their idiosyncrasies in all the dialogue. Great push and pull tension in there too. My only nit is that it could move along faster. You don't need to dwell on all this application of sunscreen for this long. estory

I wonder what is going on in Emma's head. Not sure why she didn't answer him. Maybe she's not as interested as him. Maybe she's afraid. Anyway, she might want to start acting a little more interested. I seem to remember a woman at the station who has a thing for him. Great chapter. Gretchen

I wonder why Emma didn't answer his question about being on first name terms. I'm thinking it might have something to do with that car that Sam keeps seeing up the lane. They met only ten days previously? It seemed like longer. There must be some explanation for her reticence in being on first name terms with him, especiallyconsidering she's attending to his burned back. An interesting chapter, as life flows on.

Watching the tip of Seth's ears tinge pink Carl asked, "Emma, I'm surprised you didn't stop him?"
I would say:
Watching the tip of Seth's ears tinge pink, Carl asked, "Emma, I'm surprised. How come you didn't stop him?"
