Just wonderful Barbara. You had me at apricot danish. I love how descriptive your prose is. Hunting at lustful relationship s but not going there, very clever. Thank you for sharing your stories. Jacqueline

Oh gosh, I am on my phone in India. My apologies, hinting, not hunting.

Sorry, I have fallen very far behind. Been a hectic week. Both my little ones are in Little League and my daughters team is undefeated. The 10u team called her up to assist them in one of their games so we had double games to attend. Now she's going to Districts! Sorry, excuses.

I'm giving this a six clue because it deserves it. Also I want to help push you back into #1.

I appreciate your story!

Family is never a sorry excuse. I haven't forgotten when my boys were young. They all did sports and of course, they had to be a different places at different times. I look back and wonder how I did it and worked full time. My husband was Army, so never home. But, they were good times. I honestly miss them. Thank you for the kind review.

Finally, someone has made a move to suggest they use first names. But you have left us in suspense as to whether Emma will agree to this or not. Looks like the Pastor is trying to speed things up by getting them both involved on Wednesday nights.

I think it is quite normal, as you re-read and re-type, to find things you think could be improved. That's perhaps why top-selling writers do a lot of rewriting. I think you have this portion just right. I could see nothing at all that needed to be corrected or changed. The characters speak in true-sounding voices and the emotions are real and unmistakable. This is a story I hope to follow faithfully. It is so enjoyable. MM

Barbara,

This is a brilliantly written chapter in the book Guided by Faith. It reads like a television screenplay of an uplifting story of good friends coming together at the local bakery/bookstore in a quaint little town on the Hallmark Channel. Your exceptional talent and skill is evident in the dialogue and the telling of this heartwarming chapter of a novelized book of short stories compiled highlighting the simplicity of everyday life in a small town.

All the best,

Eugene

Is someone else going to bring these two together? The hesitancy between them continues but at least Seth is now making an effort to get on first-name terms with Emma which she's resisting. Just hope she doesn't get too tired and distracted by this extra commitment she's taking on for the pastor! Great write as ever Barbara. Debbie

The danish looks delicious!! A very good chapter that flowed very well from conversation to conversation. A lot of activities going on, beginning with Seth watching to see when Emma's light came on, and he got the aloe for his sunburn.

The scene shifts to the bakery, and a lot takes place there. The food is served, including the delicious looking danish. Carl has things he wants to discuss with Seth and Emma that will make their schedules even busier. Apparently, the Pastor has several classes that need teachers, and who else but Emma and Seth did he approach. It seems like a lot of work, especially for Emma, already with another job.

In addition, Seth wants to be more informal and use their names, which seems reasonable after this amount of time, but Emma conveniently avoids the issue. Seth even switched up his sandwich!! Is there any kind of reason why Emma doesn't want to use names? She did graduate college.

Yes, Emma is a college graduate with two degrees, one in elementary ed, and one in social working. Both will come into play during this story. Thank you for the kind review.

You are very welcome, and thanks for sharing. Wouldn't she be of the mindset to use first names with Seth, or is she that shy?
reply by the author on 26-May-2023
Shy, it does happen, extremely soon. LOL

Oh, that old first name basis subject. Are they ready to go there? It seems Seth is. Ways keep popping up for the two of them to be together. Seems the pastor may be helping too. Great chapter.

This is another excellent chapter. You are moving the story along nicely, too slow for Seth and too fast for Emma. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

You have portrayed a beautiful community. The bakery is its nerve centre from which a lot of caring and loving threads spread out . The mystery of the car is not yet solved ...
