I could not have said this any better myself. I know just seeing them come through the door, it seems as though I don't hurt as bad myself. Grand kids are better than any drug out there. If addicts could be given that feeling, the drug dealers would be out of business. Great job, as always.

Monica, I thank you for the awesome review and such kind words for my Goober🥴 story! ..and yes, it is amazing now that the kids grown up also just know that respect for veterans and our flag. And grandkids are the best high we can get in this life..... I thank you my sweet friend for your six stars too.
Just nothing more precious than children!
I appreciate it so much! Thank you again, my dear friend.
Thank you so much for the well wishes!

Debi, that Goober photo is priceless. How can a disposition not get better when he shows up?

I have four grandchildren in Florida I haven't seen since last May. But, I'm pretty sure Rob (our son) and the kids are coming up next month for a week! Yeah!!!

Our other grandson, Jackson lives in Maryland, we see that stinker about once a month for a weekend.

Grandchildren simply bring a joy, a smile, or a tug at our hearts, for sure!

Your contest entry I feel is an absolute solid contender.
You took us on an incredible journey ending with your grandchildren honoring our veterans.
Beautiful!

Best of luck in the voting, although you have the real winners in your life... your grandchildren!

Cheers, Debi.
John

John, once again I am behind, and with obligations of the birthday poems don't postpone because of covid, something has to slack. However, it does NOT mean it is any less important to me or appreciated less. In fact it gives me a chance to thank you in my heart for a few days. I do mean that so sincerely! I love that you like my 🥴 so I will tell you the story behind this emoji. It came years after the picture so I named this one g o o b e r. I have to put a space in between because every time I spell it out this 🥴 happens.
Maybe I should try to get google to name it that. Lol...

So sorry that your grandkids are so far away, but I bet you guys do FaceTime and other ways to see them. Enjoy in anyway you can. The rest of mine are not that far away but they might as well be in Florida too. I am thankful that starting next week I get the ten year old three times a week and the ones next door are always here for grandma to entertain. After all, I am the biggest kid of them all. Hahaha!
You are the best John. I thank you for this wonderful review, comments and your friendship. You have no idea how that means to me.
Oh yeah, 🥴 wants to thank you for the six stars. They and you are amazing!

Covid? ugh, I?m so sorry. I hope you?re feeling better and that it was a mild strain.
I had Covid early April I think it was, my second time.

Yes, contact Google to get goobered! Do you remember the goober candy?

    Have a great weekend, Debi.
    Feel better!

Lol, I have a picture of him holding a box of goobers. Wow, that time it let me spell it out. Yeah, do you remember the character from the Andy Griffith show. Only our 🥴 acts like that to be funny.... yeah, I am healing and my second case too, but have been sleeping so much that I don't get much done even on FS. If I don't heal well and the infection in my eyes dont get better, then they will cancel my eye surgeries for June. I can't afford for them to do that.
Also glad that you made it thru in April ok. You have a good and safe MD weekend dear friend.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. You are 100% correct. All of my grandchildren live so far away, the closes it 15 hours away. But my teens grandchildren text me throughout the week and the parents of my younger ones, send me photos of their goings on every few days plus facetime for hours Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed reading and wish you luck with the contest.

But I was just as grateful that when I sat down, I had something to do besides watch television. (omit 'down' it's understood.)

My FS family was always there, day or night, as I so often found out when I couldn't sleep at night. (you can omit 'at night' it's understood.)

I realized that I had not seen or heard from any of the kids since Mother's Day, (omit 'that')

I know that the void I needed to have filled at just the right time today came in the package of a twelve-year-old goofball. (omit 'that')

We hear some say that they don't have enough to keep them busy (omit 'that')

Dang it Barb! I was rushing to fix these before you found me. And lol, I got them all fixed! And there you were! I think I have Covid again and I was not using my head while doing this. I am going to look at your one about understood at night tho. You are awesome, but I am laughing because the whole time I was fixing these I kept saying we have to hurry before Barb finds me. Hey, I do care what you think and love ya for always being there to help me. Thank you Sweetie

As I was taking your suggestions out, I realized why I was so off yesterday. I came down with this late yesterday so I better let them know I am sick. But sure enough is why. Thank you for your help and for your prayer. I shouldn't have been finishing this up in the middle of the night as I could barely see from the high temp but wow, this is one fresh story isn't it. So much that I hope you don't get sick. Lol. Thanks again for everything. Love ya

So far, my husband and I have avoided Covid. Now sure how.

I have had it twice before but neither time was very serious to the extent of hospitalization. Which is really good w having such a harsh autoimmune disease. But I just have to go in and get some medication. Just feel really rotten. And you both keep dodging that bullet!!

Good luck wishes regarding the contest entry, Debi. So many times we find that we can forget the joyous time that family bring. The smiles, the joy and the laughter they bring. You are absolutely correct, they do grow older as we do as well. Forgotten is the smiles that were remembered by the veterans. Lets not forget those moments. Wonderful picture. Blessings n Hugs!

My grandchildren are my joy, Debi, so I understand yours. My 22 year-old granddaughter, Chloe, always phones me to see how I am, and she often calls me to say she'll pick me up and take me for breakfast and a Nana/Granddaughter morning. I just love her. We should all have a grandchild, they do bring the sunshine into our lives. You are blessed with your Goober, love that name! I'm sorry you still have some pain, but as the doctor said, it will get better now you've had the operations. Soon you'll be outside walking again. This was a lovely story, my friend, you used the contest theme perfectly. Well done and good luck. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra, I am just getting to some of the earlier reviews from when I first got this virus and I want you to know that I read them as they come in, so they are not appreciated less because of late response. I just have more time to enjoy your lovely comments. This emoji 🥴 pops up every time I say or
type g o o b e r. About 5 years ago it was added to the emoji list and it looked so much like him, I named it in my settings. My 🥴 thanks you too and wanted you to know that he loves swinging on those five stars, and he carries moon beams home in a jar. So we thank you very much!! Lol... bug hug from us both!!
This is how I deal with pain, and other so called disabilities. Kids and friends like you make my life so happy that we can't be bothered with such things.
    Love ya sweet friend!!

Aw, this is precious! What a darling boy! How blessed you are to have this ray of sunshine in your life! All my grandkids actually three men and a young lady now bring this to me as well. There's nothing else like it, is there? A blessing that keeps giving. I so enjoyed this for the prompt.

Sending you my best today as always, dear Debi, and my very best wishes in the contest.
Love,
BBB XOs
