So many great lines....

"I've met a prince or two along these roads. And it's for sure I've kissed my share of toads." Me too, sister. LoL

"Dream weavers" reminds me of a song.

"Some even toss their silver a well. and make a wish for mythical James Bond." Hahaha

"I've met a prince or two along these roads. And it's for sure I've kissed my share of toads." Hahaha

Love your sonnet, good luck!

This was a wonderful poem, and a clever way of saying that there are a lot of bad choices out there. I did manage somehow to find my Prince among the toads. He passed away almost four years ago, at the age of 48. I only had him a short 22 years, but he will never be able to be replaced. a great job on this poem. Best of luck in the contest.

Wow! I am honored by your stellar review and extra special stars. So glad to hear you found your Prince and sorry to hear he passed. But, we count our blessings that you had him for 22 years.

This poem reminds me of the Prince and the Frog. The last two lines perhaps gave me the idea. I met a prince or two a long the way; and then there were lots of toad kissing. I thought toads gave you warts?

I like this poem a lot. It has excellent rhyme and meter and wonderful imagery. It also made me laugh in agreement. I guess one must kiss a lot of toads to find their prince. Good luck in the contest.

The author's words were fun to read, are descriptive and creative. I found
this poem interesting and a great account of life's journey. I especially liked the last line which made me smile! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and compliments this poem.
Hope you are having a great Sunday!....Maria

Thank you Maria for your thoughtful and encouraging review. I wrote the last lines of the poem first and had to fit the rest in. That?s the way it goes sometimes. Haha
    So glad you liked it.

I particularly love your last couplet. Unfortunately I think you have strayed too far from the style of The Bard in using rhyming couplets all the way through; this no doubt accounts for the low vote count. Anyway, a good, droll poem of 14 lines. :-)

Thank you for your kind review. I did miss the sonnet rules with this one. But it was fun to write. . When I realized my error it was a little late to fix before the contest closed. I was sure they would throw it out of the competition but they did not.

Very clever write and this poem suits the topic perfectly. Particularly the humorous ending. An excellent sonnet and I wish you the best for the contest.

No doubt they were toads. I can tell you had a blast writing this. Love the photo. It sings. Best to you in the contest. I see nothing wrong with this write.

Thanks Ben. It was fun to write. Actually wrote the last two lines first and went backwards from there. :)))

LOL... This is fun! (I've kissed more than my fair share of toads in those younger days!)

Truth is? Prince Charming or James Bond? It's all fiction! First, we learn to love ourselves...then the right person (who sees our value!) comes along!

Your meter is great, your rhymes are cleverly laid out...and "Sonnet Humor" is a totally real "thing!"

There you go. A five-star sonnet, and coming from me, that's a compliment as I have attempted to read the BARD's completed text of his sonnets, and to be truthful I simply don't get him, as well as yours.
