Ciao poet, you have your first vote!
It's a shame people tend to judged others by their looks... school is the first place where you get a taste of this cruel behaviour.
Kids wearing glasses, those overweight or have a speech defect are considered all outsiders.
Those like Betsy and Harold with a health condition or Rebecca with ugly scars are keep at a distance by the other kids.
It's a hurtful behaviour and so unfair.
School should be a happy place where kids come to learn new things and make friends. For some sadly it's a place of pain and dread.

This is a very good "feel good" story, Darla. You are leaving the reader wanting to know what happened to Leslie. It would have been good if you had a happy ending for Leslie, too.
