Well, you have proved you can turn your hand to limericks as well as sonnets. My ancestors actually came from Limerick, but that does not mean I am any good at the form, I am afraid.

Thank you Patricia for you review. It is most appreciated
I have visited Limerick in 1977 on a 6 month European, trip including England Ireland and Scotland
I am sure you can write a limerick
There was a young lady Patricia
Who thought Limericks were quite a tricksta
But she tried one for size
And in front of her eyes
A limerick appeared. What a winna.
Cheers Chris

A limerick about limericks. This is a creative and informative way to look at the form. I appreciate the additional information about the formatting and rhyme that you included.
Good luck in the contest.

I think you did do it here and you made me smile as a Limerick and sonnet are very different and created many years apart but both are close to my heart as I love both forms, a fine Limerick for the contest, love Dolly x

Brilliant choice of a subject for your limerick. Well rhymed and nicely paced and a touch of writers' humor. Good luck in the contest with this entry.

Thank you, mystery poet. Many don't know about the proper form and the humor of a limerick. You certainly have done it!
Sending you my best today as always, and my very best wishes for the upcoming contest.

I really liked this much better than a Lear limericks which as you know used the same line twice. I find that lazy. This is truly excellent good luck in the contest. Kindest regards He is xx
