Hey! I thought this was very amusing and clever - well done!
Imagine wearing all that metal - it would never take off in warmer climes! All the best for more funny stuff, Julie

I had a mental picture for every line of this poem! My favorite line was the last! So many things going wrong and of course, lastly, it's too large!! Thank you for sharing! ~Janel

LOL. This gave me a laugh. Was waiting for him to pee himself but his chainmail fell off instead. If there is time, take a look at that last line. I think the iambic pentameter slipped here but would take only a tweak to put it back in order. Good luck in the contest!

This sonnet, Bad Timing, has the proper formatting and describes what certainly has to have been the worst-ever day at the medieval jousting tournament.

Ha ha ha... !! Really funny and enjoyable to read. Specially considering the subject matter you chose, it's hard to imagine any humour coming from that...!! But you did it. I loved it.
Good luck with the contest!!

Striking image and fun verse in sonnet form with solid rhyme and correct iambic pentameter. I'm not sure why the chain mail is too tight in the beginning and too large by the end unless he's lost a lot of weight in between. But this is a good contender for the contest and I wish you the best. Debbie

I've been to the renaissance fairs in the area and watched the knights in hand-to-hand combat as well as those jousting. It's a spectacle. I was amused to find the knights wear diapers because it is too hard to get in and out of the gear. All I can say is, they must love what they are doing.
Your take on the chain mail and how it fell off at the wrong time is great. This is humorous. I hope you do well in the contest.

This is so much fun, and I particularly loved the iron-y (pun intended) of the "I have to pee" line. Your rhymes are excellent. I did, occasionally, have to adjust my natural reading to fit the iambics, but those instances were very minor, and not nearly enough to reduce this from a six. Thank you for making me smile. Good luck in the contest.

Dear Poet, do you joust at
Renaissance fairs? Either
way, great penning. Did you
see the movie with
Heath Ledger in the lead role
as a non-nobility member
becoming an honored knight?
The title of movie is
"A Knight's Tale." Anyway, I
love this poem. My very best
wishes for the humorous
sonnet contest. Blessings ~
