I love how you managed to tell a this story through the use of a few carefully chosen words. The rhythm fits the style of poem. I like how it is a different take than most limerick poems.

I think we have all had a problem or two with others here on FanStory - usually they think that they know everything and don't get that it's "our style" they don't like. At least you stuck with it and turned this cutie into a friend.

What a kind thing to do for the newbie. I often wonder if there should be a training course. I know I spent several weeks reading the Q&A section and then reading reviews that others had written. But it is exciting to join and get started so I understand the low marks they often leave.

This poem uses the form of a limerick well. I like the idea behind it and the rhyming is good. The rhythm of the third line seems slightly off to me but that is probably my reading of the poem so good luck with it

Y'know Eleri, I find that I can read my own poem or in this case limerick more than once and it seems that what seemed out of meter once, was fine the next time. And I came to the conclusion it is how I start reading it.
And lol, that is me admitting that about my own. So I appreciate your honesty, more than you know. I am a stickler on meter and I just went back and read it and I thought it was fine. Limericks are fun to read and write. What a shame it would be to mute a newbie. Your count is great, your rhyme scheme is spot on, and your bright red background pops! Loved the message that "mentoring" a bit can build relationships and make friendships grow!
