Wow. It'd take me about a century to get over the embarrassment. You parlayed what might have been a very short account of a "phone incident in the buff" to an entirely fleshed-out )see what I did there, with a "fleshed out?) story, which held me from the first word to last. Very clever reminiscing of those early days of marriage and the "challenge" of living with the in-laws! (I think I'd wear two sets of PJ's to bed for the rest of my life!) Funny stuff, Debi.

Wow. It'd take me about a century to get over the embarrassment. You parlayed what might have been a very short account of a "phone incident in the buff" to an entirely fleshed-out )see what I did there, with a "fleshed out?) story, which held me from the first word to last. Well, it's funny now, but maybe not so much then,
Debi. You did a great job describing everything that
lead up to that wrong number. The MIL seemed like
a control freak. I would've done the same thing. Why
she had to snoop around was despicable--just leave the
door closed. I'm thrilled you and Glen got out of there
in such a short time. The celebration that night of the
phone call seemed fun. I imagine hubby let them stay
the night rather than drive after drinking. I could see
everything as I read.

Jan, lol, yes my mil was the exact reason why you always here me sing Melanie's praises. I think I may have told you that she was a battle ax at times. I can't believe I just said that. Lol... And you know I don't know if we gave much thought at that age it drinking and driving unless someone was really intoxicated, but I never did find out how drunk they were.

Your own place allowed you to create those fun times and hilarious memories that we make when we are young. As life should be. Several things, one grammatical, the others more questions of whether I am lacking in understanding or whether there needs to be a fundamental change of wording somewhere.
"...his parent's house and into our own." [If he has more than one parent, then it's "parents' house".]
the only ones so far were my girlfriends' boyfriends, [I'm left wondering why your protagonist's girlfriends wouldn't show up, but their boyfriends would. Am I missing something?]
and my friends had left around midnight. [...yet here you are implying that your girlfriends did show up. I think.]
All that aside, what a dynamite ending to your story! Whoa!

I thank you so much Jay for that feedback. My eyes don't always catch the changes that my autocorrect throws at me, so I do appreciate when my reviewers do. I am going to make those statements more clear. I appreciate your help and kind comments so very much..... Debi
After taking another look, I realized that was one of the places in my story that I spent too much time trying to explain myself. So there was so much about the paragraph not needed anyway. I cut it way down and simplified it greatly and very grateful for the help.

Everything about that incident was wrong. How could Glen fail to tell you there was sleepover company in the house. How in God's name will he ever gain your forgiveness? What a fiasco, oh man. If I ever did something like that to my wife, I would forever be in the dog house with little or no chance of ever getting fully forgiven. Nevertheless, it is an hilarious story.

Hey there my Dear Nomi, you are wonderful but this was the mindset of drinkers. I may have to go back and clarify that there was only a few hours of this happening. That we were all drinking, and he would have had to wake me up in order for him to tell me that there was someone else still left in the house. Lol, I never thought to be angry with him about it because I am sure he was drunk when he went to bed, but thank you sweet Nomi for being so caring to how this affected me. And I was thankful that I never had to worry about things like that after being born again. The party days were over. Unfortunately it took another ten years for me to go from a part time to full time Christian. I just love you sweet bb. Thank you so much! (Big Hug!!!)
