John, now you did it. I am crying my heart out. I am so happy this is fiction and it is beautiful. The whole time I was reading I felt like it was true, and so happy because your wife is still here, right? This was short and sweet and everything in between that was perfect way to pull on our heart strings. It also reminds me of how it was with my mom and dad when she was dying. She was still in her fifties tho. But I remember my dad saying to her as she laid there in pain, "oh honey, I wish so badly I could trade places with you." And my mom looked at him so sweetly and said, "so do I." Lol and they both got a laugh out of it.
Awesome job my friend. I just had to review this and will be doing more after my eye surgeries next month. I owe you big time, my awesome friend.

John, the story is touching, heartbreaking, and sweet. It pulls at your heart both for the love between the two and that they only have a matter of days to be together.

Ah, John. This was heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Such a sweet couple, near the end for her, reminiscing about their past together and how happy they were. This was beautifully written, not at all maudlin, and simply describes some of their last moments together. Very well done.

A very sweet story of a long-time love and the end that comes to us all. My brother recently experienced something like this - his wife died at home in bed (with cancer) with him lying along next to her.
May we all go so peacefully and with someone we love by our side.

What a touching story of someone with a serious illness. I could just imagine watching Rosie and Marty having this conversation, and, it is a conversation I believe would pass between husband and wife, (partner and partner), in these circumstances. Beautifully written.
