Ciao poet, you now have 4 votes!

An unusual offering for this time of season even though the weather has been still very cold. Just a few days ago we still got considerable snowfall on our mounts.

We don't have elks .. I googled to see what were the differences between elks and red stags.

I didn't know that the sound they make is called : bugle.

Good thing I checked the pronunciation .. I was saying bug-le instead of
bu-gle.

You found a pretty piece of art to illustrate your wee poem.

Best of luck in the contest!

    Thanks for your vote. The current leader is worthy of its placement.

    Check out "wapiti" for another animal that may bugle (-;

You painted a magical scene here of winter and these animals making a sound like a bugle breaks the silence of the dormant season, good luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Dear Poet, another beauteous
5-7-5 for the contest. I love
nature poems. We have some
elk in a national park in
North Carolina, don't remember which park. My very best wishes for the
contest. Blessings ~

    Regina,

    I have seen the elk, but never heard their winter bugling.
