Very cute. It sounds like teenagers, and it was easy to follow who was speaking. Mothers do have a bad habit of saying something like his did and leaving him with no ideas.

This was a well presented story. The ending was totally a surprise. I thought you would have gotten the mom a box of candy but not ate the candy yourself. Did you think of going and replacing mom her box of candy?

The dialogue reads naturally and I loved the punch line. Your story reminded me of when I was a kid and kept buying Mum a box of chocolates but had to buy several before the day arrived because I kept eating them myself.

If I was Ronald's mother, I'd remember his nothing gift when it was his birthday. If I'm not a mother then I don't have a son. (Lol) Actually, this is a funny story. Poor Ronald didn't know what to do, and ended up doing the wrong thing. Your picture is perfect for this dialogue. Best wishes in the contest.
