This was a great entry. I read them all and I think it is only one of two that actually followed the prompt by arguing both sides. Some just took it to be an Ode to Love.

Anyhoo, this was elegant, yet pristine. Thank you for
sharing your talents, Master Poet!

Yes. This method is just as good as any others. "He loves me or he loves me not" is a age old question and it has been asked again and again. Human beings has survived and this method must has worked.

Well done and good luck.

Perfect! Absolutely perfect for this writing prompt. The words, the balanced rhyming and pace make this verse sing. It was a pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing this with us.

These flowers must be ox-eye flowers, similar to a daisy, sitting there sayin, "he loves me, he loves me not" until the petals have run out, and one has the answer.(good luck with that one!) but a great entry in this contest, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. You seem skeptical about one of the oldest tests for love. I'll bet you have tried it when you were younger.

Hi
This is a cute romantic poem about the first feelings of love. It has easy unforced rhymes and a flow that shows her confusion and hope, I think it might work better if she had friends ask him about his feelings. This seems another tried and true method to find out, it you are afraid to ask yourself. Maybe if both turn out it the positive, then a face to face might be in the future.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Good luck in the contest.
Joan

Thanks, Joan. "Ask a friend". That sounds like one of those game shows.

It does kind of sound like a game show,

You met the contest challenge well with this rhyming poem. But I would hope someone tells the narrator that the flower may not be the most reliable consultant! Best wishes in the contest!

Are you sure about that, Helen. I though that method was tried and true.

😂 It's only a number game. Even number of petals can be remedied by starting with "he loves me not"

Ah, the age old flower petal routine is still the teller of love's fortune. You do a great job building the anticiptation and then leading into the theme of He love me...
Good luck in the contest.

I really like your charming poem. I remember playing this game with my friends as a young girl. We were convinced that it worked until it didn't! If only it were that simple!

Thanks, Mary. I thought those Maine daisies worked every time.

Maybe I just started with the wrong petal. :)

This is a beautifully written poem. I love it. It has a great flow and rhyme scheme. This is my favourite part. I'll pick a daisy in my field,
And there my fate will be revealed.
Tis then I'll find what is my lot:
He loves me or he loves me not. Good luck in the contest.
