This is an excellent entry for the By the Sea contest. It flows well when read, the rhyming is interesting as it alternates smoothly. It fells like nostalgic recalling a memorable and special moment you shared together by the sea. Well done.

This is a very nice poem, it made me feel happy. We went to Florida a couple of years ago and I saw the ocean for the first time! It was amazing and unbelievably warm. Thanks for sharing.

This is beautiful, and I love it. Your friend was fortunate to have such an excellent writer to write for him. (There is one wrong pronoun. Correct, it is for you and me.) "Me" would fit fine with the rest of the verse. Probably that won't be noticed by many, but I'd love to see this one win the contest.)

There should never be any doubt that time spent at the beach in normal weather can be a very desirable and enjoyable experience. Of course, you would not want to be anywhere near the beach during a violent wind storm. That being said, to be at the beach when the weather is nice, is an experience to be long remembered with a smile. Your wonderful poem induces all the warm and fuzzy feelings it was intended to produce.

reminds me of when I lived in the Caribbean from 2007 to 2010 for the US government covering 7 countries. I ended up traveling to over 20 countries and territories in the region, plus Costa Rica. I thought that Barbados had the best rum and the best beaches,
