Through your poems you come out as a sane deeply loving person with a Romantic heart. So it was a surprise to read that you enjoyed a bit of non legal racing!! It must have been quite thrilling!

Hahahaha! Yes I was a bit of a wild child and I still have just a bit of a rebel left in me. But thankfully God had other plans, and after reading that message from you today, it felt like I had been blessed a million times over.

I have read somewhere that if you are able to retain the child in you into your adult hood ,then nothing like it.

That was such a cool story, Debi, about you and your husband in your younger days. I'm sure you had great fun, but you had the good sense not to let your emotions take over, but to let your good judgment prevail.
You so well described the fun and thrills of that wonderful time of life when we were young and healthy and full of beans. Eventually we turn into adults as you did that day and have to put aside those carefree times as responsibilities take over our lives.
But it sure is fun to reminisce about those fun times as you have done skillfully here. Great story! Jim

Oh Jim, you are so kind. And I was a little bit of a wild child at that time but with motherhood staring me in the face, after all doctors had told me that I would never have children, it was the only decision I could make.
A fun story to relive and write. Don't you love how we are immortalized by our words and writing. At least until my promotion is over. Lol....Thanks Jim for the awesome review.

You naughty girl! My late partner was arrested for drag racing on a deserted estate. He was about 20 and had to attend court in Sydney, quite a distance from his home, so his parents came to learn of it. His straight-laced mother was so horrified. Still didn't get it out of his system though...

That is a good story and you tell it well. I was born and raised in NYC I was a Nom by 1993, so I can not imagine nor empathize with your experience. However, I did have my heart in my mouth, as I read your story. Good writing!

also recall how popular they
were. Mustang cars seemed
to be in a league of their own
back then. Remember the
Rat Fink character from the
1960's? Your story describes

That was a fun story. I'm glad you didn't agree to that race! "Pregnant and in Jail" would have been a much sadder story! The story had so many good elements: love, speed, a temptation to throw away common sense, a bully who got busted. Well told!
