I really don't want this story to end. I really enjoy it. Thank you for sharing it with us. This is good writing with great character development.
The next morning, we were up early and decided (The following morning)

This is a good chapter with Eddie breaking the course record. That is such a joy for a man who is soon to only have the joy of heaven. But then Heaven might have some great golf courses.

Hey, I'm counting on that!

What a fascinating chapter Jim, with Eddie becoming more tired with each day passing and meeting two boys who inform Eddie that he broke the club championship for the least strokes for the putting greens, beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. Eddie is facing his last hurrah, but you'll see he does it with grace and style.

Of course,

Wow, I can see you are building up to a real tear-jerker on this one, Jim. So was the eighteen-hole course Eddie and Kenny went on similar in concept to a miniature golf course? I enjoyed this.

Yes, it's really just a great big putting green with 18 cups and some tee markers on it. I imagine they move the holes around to different places on the green. Here is a link to it: Himalayas Putting Course

Great chapter. Question- the two boys are 9-10 yrs old. They shoot as far as Eddie and z Kenny? I was confused about that part. Otherwise a good chapter, flowed nicely with the action moving right along,
Curious to see what happens.

It's not a golf course, but a huge putting green. You're only hitting putts on it.
Here is a link to it if you want to see what it looks like: Himalayas Putting Course.

I must?ve missed that point in your story, sorry. Thanks Goff the link. It looks amazing.
Have you golfed there?

Unfortunately not. I once visited the Old Course at St. Andrews and walked a few holes. This was in the spring of 2000 while I was chaperoning my daughter's band trip in high school, and the course was empty because they were preparing it for the British Open there that year, so no one was there to stop me. I don't think I even knew about the putting course which adjoins the 2nd hole, or I would have visited it.

Nice story. I am getting to believe that Eddie is going to say his last goodbyes to his friend. Kind of like Bing Crosby dying on the golf course during a trip to Spain. Had I asked if you ever read the book, 'Golf in the Kingdom'? The putting story reminded me a little bit of that story. Well done.

Yes, I did read that book and loved it. I loved the mystical quality of it, including that magical shillelagh, and the night he went out and golfed in the dark. Shivas Irons was one of those unforgettable characters who stay in the mind.

yes indeed.

The story continues to roll along well, Jim. It sounds like you had a go at the Himalayas yourself - it sounds to me more like mini golf than a regular golf course. I'm so hopeless at that! Cheers, Julie

You're right, Julie. It's just an acre-sized putting green with 18 cups on it--just for putting. Never saw it or played it myself, but I researched it.
Thanks for the good review.

Just like Patrick O'Brien. Did you know he never visited any of those wonderful places he wrote about so convincingly?

With knowing there are two chapters to go, the book must be finished, and you have fed it to us by chapter and verse. It continues to be well written and an enjoyable read. Thank you.

Thank you, Tom. Yes, I actually wrote the book in 2016 as my first attempt at fiction writing, but I've tweaked it some over the years. I borrowed several sections from it for Some Call It Luck.

This chapter, "The Trip," from the book 'Lucky Eddie' efficiently familiarizes the reader with two dear friends who are making a farewell golfing trip together to celebrate their long friendship and its central much-loved activity, golf. One of the two friends is facing death in the not-too-distant future, and this underscores the feeling present in the friendship and highlights the delightful presence of two young boys who, with the two friends, make a remarkable foursome on an eighteen hole putting course in Scotland.
