Hi Yvonne, a fun story. Of special note:

He looks like a sheepdog that got caught in a wind tunnel.
(Good descriptive writing.)

Defendant is guilty of publicly humiliating his wife. Mr. Murphy's hair needs to go, and if it doesn't, then he needs to go. The choice is his. He has many rights, but sharing his bed with his wife is on the chopping block. So, he can be right, or he can be happy and continue to live with his wife. The choice is his. Hopefully, the judge will award Mrs. Murphy with a nice, big, fat paycheck, and she'll be able to leave if he doesn't cut that hair and get on board. My decision is final. The gavel slams. The gavel has spoken. Lol.

Well done. This story made me smile. Xo. M

Well, this jury member spent several long minutes deliberating before coming down on the side of the woman, partly because she is one herself (unity aspect) but also in the interest of decency and hygiene. Well done with your script. It seems perfect to me.

This is a cute script. Mr. Murphy is guilty of embarrassing his wife and being argumentative. He certainly doesn't seem to care about her or her opinion, and he really needs to work on his personal hygiene. While he has the right to wear his hair in the way he chooses, I think he is guilty of offending his wife and weakening their marriage.

Mr. Murphy is guilty of being not only an uncaring spouse, especially when his selfish choice causes her humiliation. Some things need to be let go for the sake of harmony in a marriage. He has turned it into a battleground.

Well, this could go either way in most people's minds. But a man should be able to wear his any way he likes, and the wife should make a decision as to whether she wants to deal with it or not. Thanks for sharing.

If it was clean and wild, I think she should live with it and give him a break. Dirty hair, which always smells bad, is grounds for divorce. He's guilty.

Interesting topic for the script. I'd have to find for Mr. Murphy and agree he can wear his hair the way he wishes. Perhaps he does it to spite Mrs. Murphy, who seems to be an unpleasant, domineering person. Her attitude was one reason I didn't find in her favor. Excellent handling of your script and convincing dialogue. judi

I enjoyed this court case. Even though it is humorous, it is an example of a serious matter. So, my decision is serious. Ralph looks a wreck, but should have the right to wear his hair the way he chooses. He may not be hired for some jobs, or people may disapprove of him, but he must be prepared to accept the consequences of his decision. (Like his wife nagging him of leaving him) He is not guilty of a crime.

Great script. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I enjoyed reading and wish you luck with the contest. This is a very strong entry.

I can see both sides. The husband has no desire to make his wife happy, just do what he wants to do. That is far from a good husband. As for the wife, she needs to back off. She should accept her husband as is, she married him. Truthfully the man's not guilty he does have the right to be himself. I probably need divorce court.

Thank you for your review and the verdict. I think he should clean himself up a bit, and she would stop nagging. He seems to be a mess.

As a member of the jury, I have to vote not guilty. Ralph does sound like a jerk (I could use some other terms, but not as a juror). But alas, being a jerk is not against the law, nor is an adult wearing their hair in any style they chose. Case closed. Well written. Terry.
