Well done, Lisa May. "Striped lightning" is an excellent description of a leaping tiger, and "in a flash" beautifully continues the metaphor. Good luck in the contest. We're up against each other again, but I never mourn losing when it's to good poetry.

Hello LisaMay :)
I enjoyed reading your poem.
Great description of the tiger and the way it moves. Nice use of alliteration and I also like the striking presentation.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes as always, Debra

Great long 'i' assonance in 'striped' and 'lightning,' added to 'f' alliteration with 'forth/flash.' Then the long 'i' assonance comes back in 'Tiger' at the end. The action words 'leaps' and the idea of lightning definitely convey a sense of quick motion. I think you did a great job with the black and yellow color combination, too. Good luck in that contest.

A perfect poem for the contest. You fit volumes in these 8 words! Leopards are the most gracious, elegant and gorgeous creatures, albeit killers in the wild.

Great metaphors used, excellent imagery, visuals, presentation and the artwork fits here like a glove.

Good luck in the contest. Fondly, EM

Hi Lisa,
These eight words describe the artwork well. Both the metaphor of the first line and the action in the second are well done.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

This eight-word poem, Speed and Agility, has the proper formatting and gives a snapshot description of the tiger that covers all from Tigger to Shere Khan.

Your review brought back childhood memories to me Bill, with mention of Shere Khan. That Bengal tiger terrified me as a child when my father read Kipling to me.

This is a very descriptive poem that really covers what a tiger is and does - well done. I like the connection with lightning and flash and the poem describes action very well.
Good luck with it

Perfect image and very apt presentation. In a few words you have conveyed his strength and power. Good play of words with both "lightning" and "flash". Best wishes for your entry.
