Thank you for sharing this post with us. It was scary to read. I'm glad everybody is all right.

With that, she bent down and kissed him goodbye. (you can omit 'down')

Emmie was released from the hospital the next morning. (the following morning)

You find board, and I pray with you, (play??? or is it on purpose?)

Thanks very much, Barbara, for your great response and helpful edits. Yes, the pray was intentional.

Excellent chapter, Jim. We know Eddie loves Littlest Red, and in this case risked his life in order to save hers.two of my grandkids are five (one each from my son and daughter) so I clearly felt the pain and anguish of each charector.

Nicely written.

Thank you so much, John. Although to many he seems rather obnoxious, he really has a heart of gold.

I've been away from FS for the better part of a month and don't review a heck of a lot, so I still have a couple of sixes in the hopper. This chapter was certainly up to the standard of a six. You maintained the tension throughout the accident and the following period of waiting. A really great job!

Thanks very much, Jay for the great review and the 6 stars.

Now, who is that in the new picture? My guesses:

    a) Bob Dylan
    b) Leonard Cohen
    c) Johnny Cash
    d) A younger you
    e) none of the above

Are you referring to my bio-pic? My ego would love to be confused with a-b-c, but, alas, it's a "d"!

Yeah, I figured that was the most likely. Gotta love that curly hair.

All out of a bottle, my friend, and under my wife's hairdryer.

Eddie really did risk his life for little Claire. He is also being very entertaining the day after his surgery. (You might want to move that to the third or fourth day after the surgery. He would be too uncomfortable to fake friendliness so soon after surgery.) But then he is kind of a wild and crazy guy.

That probably would be more accurate. Maybe he was just putting a good face on it for little Emily who he adored.

Accosted. Loved it's use.
Brentwood - Bushwood
Could Eddie be another Carl Spackler.
Wow. That is an ever lengthening list of characters to follow!?
As for the story it was a good read. Longer than most of our author-reader partnership. I joined your patient and took a nap near the end. Wink-wink.

Yeah, maybe that's where I got the inspiration to call it Brentwood--from Bushwood in "Caddy Shack." Loved that movie. Remember Mr. Havercamp? Click here to see what my golf swing looks like now. See why I quit?

Interesting event and how it all unfolded. All told from Kenny's POV. The description were well written so the reader could follow things well and could easily "see" the accident and the follow-up. I guess this segment goes to reenforce Eddie's goodness and the connection between he and Emily.

Yeah, Eddie comes across as pretty obnoxious to most people, but he really has a heart of gold. I have a friend who is a lot like him in many ways who served as inspiration for Eddie. I guess I'm like Kenny in many ways.

    Thanks for the good review.

This is an exciting post Jim. I'm glad it's not as bad as it could, I guess will have to give up the idea of playing professional golf, and concentrate on being a professional Uncle and creating better ways of cheating at golf, well done, blessings Roy

Thanks very much, Roy. You're right, he could have been killed. I guess he should be thankful for that anyway.
