    Hi Katharine :)
Yeah - it's a barrel of laughs! We've three children aged 12+ at home. The youngest at 12 is a serial door-slammer. The 15yr old is a sulker and the 17yr old knows everything!!
Thanks for the good luck wishes - I need it LOL!

Well, phew! I dont guess for the 12 yr old, deducting 25 cents from her allowance for each door slam would help? or heck, make it a dollar if you think 25 cents wouldn't be enough to deter - of course, it adds up.
Just thought of something funny though I know you wouldnt do it, how about a sign on your front door:
    BEWARE
    DOOR SLAMMER
    SULKER and
    KNOW-IT-ALL
    live here
Enter at your own risk! (ha)

Those raging hormones! You have my greatest sympathy. Console yourself with the fact that if you can both get through the teen years without throttling one another, you will probably be best friends for life.

This a good entry to the Senryu contest. The text is a great size. The message is clearly presented and is easily understood. Anyone living with a teenager can relate to your poem. The visual fits well. Good luck in the contest.

I totally get this. Teens and their hormonal tantrums. I am very happy my children never suffered the 'terrible twos' because it really comes as the terrible 'twelves' and onwards. A well written senryu and one for parents that can only do their best.

The storm will pass with one who will passes the baton onto the next. I have two. Thankfully they are different to each other in personality but they observe each other and learn the ropes with what they can get away with - good and bad. Being a good parent means sticking to boundaries that will help them in the long run. Fundamentals are important to remember and fall back on. You got this 👍

Excellent. My own experience. The door slamming became a fact of life. Great image and wording, fitting the brief well. Good luck in the contest. Thanks for sharing, Debbie
