You've done a lot of research for this article, Brett, and it left me thinking if the human race will ever come together as one people. Antisemitism won't go away until people get out of the habit of following the wolf and adding their naïve minds to his/hers. I like what you said about not answering questions with the facts, but asking them a question instead. I like that idea. Unless they have some cast-iron reason, excuse, whatever, it would be interesting to hear how they would reply. Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xx

A telling history of Antisemitism from WW2 to the present. The images are clear. The language is declarative and strong. The pace is good. The narrative stays on point. The conclusion flows well from the statements.

One correction:
"Had Germany won World War Two what other people would they have sought to eliminate?"
This begs the question because if you look it up, Hitler did start just that. The list is:
The Romas (gypsies)
Asocials (people not conforming to Nazi social norms)
Blacks
Disabled
Freemasons
Gays
Jehovah's Witness
Non-Jewish Poles and Slavic
Political Opposition
Trade Unionists

I think this gives us a fair idea of what would have occurred if he had won the war. Might want to include this. Antisemitics tend to be haters of people and hate anyone they feel is not like themselves.

Thanks for a good read.

Very well written. Persuasive.
Interesting. I never knew where the derogatory term originated.
Well said, the up and down sword cutting metaphor.
Kanye West - Hitler thought as little of his race as he did the Jewish. What a foo.
I find it approaching comical that Christians who are anti-semites worship a Jew and revere Mary and the disciples, who were 'all' Jewish.
To a large degree, I think antisemitism falls to jealousy, jealous that the Jews are God's chosen people.
Good luck in the contest.

Sadly, we live in a world filled with jealousy and hate, and it seems to be growing with a mushroomed intensity every day, no signs of ever letting up. Wish I had a six. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Brett,
I've never understood the hatred toward the Jewish people. I don't know if it's jealousy or what. Of course Hitler was a nut and needed someone to pin the troubles of Germany on at the time, but that doesn't excuse what is happening now in this country. I read with interest some of the other comments, and see that whether we're discussing Jews or white Christian men or President Trump, there is no end to prejudice. It's built into the human nature I suppose. Well researched, well done.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Would probably tend to agree it is built into the human nature. Appreciate your insights and the review.

An excellent write, well-researched. People are too keen to dismiss what happened under Hitler and the Nazis and say it didn't happen, (perhaps they simply cannot accept the horror of it), and equally today many deny that anti-Semitiism is present and growing. The trouble is that one cannot forbid people to hold hateful views- it is the heart that needs to be changed, and insight given, for any effective change to occur.

As Forrest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does."

We can educate the ignorant masses who believe the Jews are the "enemy," but the same could be said about any other race, creed, gender, etc. that's not a white Christian male.

"Banning" anti-semitism, I believe, would cause just as much a "call to arms" as January 6th, 2021. If that day was stained into American History, just imagine what could happen if racist masses took to the streets to fight an "attack on their beliefs," similar to the Unite the Right Rally in August 2017 in Virginia.

Sadly, with the current state of affairs, I don't see any positive change happening soon. Just remember American History X came out 25 years ago. That should have helped educate anyone with these thoughts of hatred.

All this aside, I appreciate you taking the time to write and research this! I whole-heartedly agree with your sentiment, but I don't see a solution in sight.

This is an excellent article about the scourge of antisemitism. I live in an area where the Jewish people sold their temple as there were too few of them to support it. I subbed for several years in a county school where, when someone called another person a Jew (as an insult), I discovered they didn't know what a Jew was so I would challenge them to by letting them think I was Jewish. They received a lesson in what a Jew was before I admitted I wasn't Jewish. After awhile, I did not hear that insult anymore.
You do have one fact a little off. About 5 million Jews died. Another million "useless eaters" died first (their own elderly and handicapped people). And at least a million Homosexuals, Dark-skinned people, Seventh Day Adventists, and Gypsies also died. They were equal opportunity haters.

Curious what you base 5 million on? Found nothing that substantiates that number. Everything found has placed the number of Jews closer to 6 million. Either way, most sources state it was about two-thirds of the Jewish population at the time. Anyhow, do appreciate your comments and the review.

It may have been 6 million and was certainly more than 5 million, but there were so many more who drew the hate of the Nazis.

This is a very good nonfiction writing for the contest. The Holocaust was absolutely a stain on the history of the world. You have done a very good job of explaining the Jewish faith and the prejudice that there is against the Jewish people even today. Thanks for sharing. Patricia
