I enjoyed reading and this is a good write. You left a great hook. I can't wait to find out what happened. My question is also Eddie is an alcoholic, I thought he'd quit drinking before Kenny and Abby were married, but here you have him toasting with an expensive bottle of wine. Am I missing something? If not, the stories should follow the same storyline.


When Eddie announced one day that he had just signed contracts with Hubert Green, Fuzzy Zoeller (you can omit 'that')

The next day, I gave my two weeks' notice at Wingate Industries and told Eddie I was coming aboard full-time. (The following day...)

Yeah, it was E.J. the caddie who was the alcoholic, not Eddie. It's easy to confuse the two because they both start with "E."

Well, that ended on a prefect cliff-hanger. You cover a lot of years in a way that works. I would suggest you tell a little about Kenny and Abby's marriage instead of mentioning it is in another book.

6 stars because ... I love golf. Two items of note, and I wouldn't be surprised to find our paths have commonality teen the two. Fuzzy was the touring pro for Ford's Colony in Williamsburg, Va. The Director of Golf was my best man at our wedding, and I returned the favor when he remarried in the nineties.
Now for putters. I was gifted a Bobby Grace (Be Cu) Ping look-alike, also from Scottsdale BLI. An identical one is listed on E-Bay for $999. Others have sold for $200. Mine is VG to near perfect with the original grip in tack.

I don't know a thing about golf, but this really catches my interest! Definitely feeling "Caddyshack" and "The Wonder Years" - a nostalgia - from reading this.

This is the first part of the book I've seen, definitely need to find the first seven chapters!

This one was sort of a transition chapter between the major parts of the story. I wrote this back in 2016--way before I joined FanStory last year. It's primarily a golf novel, but I've heard from a lot of non-golfers (like yourself) who seem to enjoy it. The next few chapters will get away from golf for a while, but back to it again at the end.

And that's okay by me! Your attention to detail, even for non-golfers (or maybe I can speak for myself - this non-golfer), definitely doesn't interrupt the flow of the story at all. You still laid out a great foundation.

I liked reading this. My favorite technically-oriented paragraph was: We had figured out that Eddie's "Starship Enterprise" putter, the face of which stayed horizontal when the shaft was balanced on his finger (the proper term is "face-balanced"), was better suited to his style of straight-back, straight-through putting than a toe-hang model like the one I used. That kind seemed more appropriate for an arcing-type stroke.
I liked the happy endings. The last line makes me think something more serious is about to be revealed.

Thanks very much, Christie. You must be a golfer to have enjoyed that paragraph. Being primarily a golf novel, I'm not so sure how non-golfers will feel about it, but I decided to leave it in anyway.

Oh, I only engage in miniature golf maybe once a year. It just sounded authentic!
