Jim, congratulations on winning the Ode Poetry contest. The only thing missing from your fun, creative writing is a review from Sir Lancellot himself...giving you a four rating with a comment that it needs work. I don't think it needs work, but you know he would. Terry.

Congratulations and onya, Jim! I'm sure lancellot would be chuffed too. Did I tell you he liked my Lancelot poem? He thought it was very funny. And it got on the Welcome page!! (I thought it would be blocked). Ditto Bad Moves. Julie :)

Excellent! Great meter and rhyme, and I love the fact that it's about a fellow writer. I will definitely be reading more of your writing, and I'll be looking into his as well! I'm a sucker for lewd humor. Congratulations on your win, and I truly enjoyed your work!

As a newcomer to FanStory who had only read lance's work today, I whole-heartedly appreciated reading this! Definitely makes me want to keep an eye out for his works.

Some of it is rather shocking, but definitely humorous. Welcome to FanStory, BTW.

Thank you!

I enjoyed this verse which flows with great rhythm, originality and self-deprecating fun. The rhyming is well-done and I love the last paragraph that disputes any criticism with a strong self-affirming "To be." Well done! Best wishes, Debbie

This is a good ode entry. It rhymes well and allows the reader an insight - paying tribute to Lancelot - a fellow FanStorian. It takes all sorts to make the world go round, characters to a book, ingredients to food - thank goodness there is rough to allow the appreciation of smooth. I enjoyed this ode. Good luck in the competition.

Well this is great! Lancellot is all you have said, and I'll bet he really loves this ode to him.
Just one typo in the subtitle:
He marches to his own uniqe (unique) beat
Wishing you much luck with the voters.

Thanks for this good review, Gloria, and for finding that typo.

You might have just recruited a new fan for Sir Lance. Using another Fanstorian as the object of your ode i was a brilliant choice. Your comical message was embedded in such a reverent form. I tend to run a little crude myself, but I restrain myself in this venue. I got a little vicarious thrill from your ode.

He's a smart cookie, very cynical however, but he's honest, but honesty is not truth, it's the truth as any of us is only capable of. However, he us perceptive concerning human nature, I somehow doubt humans can overcome their personal bias. But this is so eloquently put, and the second post about this interesting character, beautifully eloquent, smooth and well rhymed, blessing, Roy
